Quarter 1 of my senior year had ended.

It is a quarter consist of experiences, hard

work, knowledge, college preparation, and most importantly, the awareness of global civic
duties. When many courses focus on the academic content and scores, this course focuses
on the both mental goodness and responsibilities of every global citizen. Begin with global
citizenship, I learned the advantages, disadvantages, and necessity of being a global citizen.
Our world, whether it means the planet or society to me, is having troubles that require the
work of millions people. Followed by a more specific explanation about global problem, I
realized my responsibility as a global citizen. Soon after the brief introduction about global
problem, I studied the qualification of global citizen, including the ability to solve global issue,
adapt new technology and the changing society. Later on, I get to studied the global
problems. The main global issue is inequality. This problem have many branches which are
growing in many part of the world. The most significant and well-known inequalities that have
been partially solved are gender and racial inequality. Although they have vanished, but their
friends, such as social class still appeared and affecting nearly all people on Earth.
It is common for many students that knowledge they studied in school is useless in
the society. It is not true for Thai Civic Duties. I found all topic I studied in Thai civic duties
are useful even in fields those are not related to global citizenship. By using the qualification
of global citizen, I will be able to make quality friends. Furthermore, Im about to enter
university, which is a diverse society. Being able to aware global society, I will be more open
in university and assimilate more knowledge while keep developing my global mindset.
By understand topics and apply knowledge of Thai Civic Duties, I believed Im a
qualified altruistic global citizen. Civic responsibility is one of the outcome of the course
along with a global mindset. Also, having a global mindset means more, it means be open
minded to all cultures and nations, respect all kinds of differences, and worry about the well-
being of global community.Due to lack of ability, I and my classmates can only drew
blueprints. The reason of found such organization is my belief on Action is more important
than words.

This is a part of my work, and is use as an example of the work I have done in
Quarter 1
It is clear that the main goals of global citizen and the foundation of global
citizenship is to solve and teach the disadvantages of global issues. So, the ability to
understand other people and countries stance are necessary for being global
citizen. Building on this understanding, every qualified global citizen need to be
open-minded and be able to understand others problems. For instance, in the Model
UN, I and my friends have portrayed to be the representative of different countries.
Before every conference, we need to research the information of the topic and
understand the stance of the country we are representing. This can lead to the fine
resolution when we discuss about that issue in the conference. From the settlement
of polar bear to the safety of Rohingya people, by doing this, global citizens can truly
understand the problems which the human race is facing. By contrast, those who
cant do these wouldnt become global citizens. They might be the president of the
most powerful country in the world, but they can never make human being and earth
better. A perfect example of narrow-minded person is Donald Trump. During his
speech, he said that he doesnt believe in climate change, and withdrew his country
from global climate agreement which signed by nearly 200 countries around the
world. Now we can see what happens to your country if the national leader lacks of
being open-minded. By the way, being a global citizen is far more than just being
open-minded, other abilities are still needed.
