Thayambaka
Peruvanam Kuttan Marar
Peruvanam Kuttan Marar is a chenda artist. He leads several popular traditional orchestra
performances in Kerala. He is a recipient of Padma Shri award in the year 2011 for his
contributions in the field of art.. Kuttan Marar features in prominent temple festivals of
Kerala including Thrissur Pooram, Peruvanam pooram, Kollam Pooram and those at
Guruvayur Temple.] He leads the famous Ilanjithara Melam of Thrissur Pooram.[Kuttan Marar
started performing at the Ilanjithara Melam from 1977 and has been its Pramani since 1999.

Mattanur Sankarankutty (M. P. Sankara Marar) is an Indian percussionist


who plays the chenda (a traditional Kerala drum), Thayambaka,
Kalamandalam Gopi, is an exponent of the classical dance-drama style
known as Kathakali.

Nooran Sisters
The Nooran Sisters Jyoti Nooran and Sultana Nooran are a Sufi
singing duo from Sham Chaurasia gharana of classical music. They are
Sufi singers from Jalandhar. The sister duo has been trained for 10 years
by their father, Ustad Gulshan Mir, who is the son of Bibi Nooran/Swarn
Noora, a renowned Sufi singer of 70's era. Music was the integral part of
their childhood because of their grandmother, Swarn Noora.

Tribal Flora
Tribal Flora is music that transcends space and time. It started out as a
group of friends casually meeting up and jamming out the sunsets by the
seaside. Tribal flora mostly play tribal rhythms with earthy instruments at
that time, using djembes, didgeridoos and morsing (Jews harp) and
various indigenous drums.and include elements from Indian classical,
tribal/folk, western (classical, jazz, blues, reggae, and rock), electronica,
DnB and psychedelic music

AGAM
Agam is a Bangalore-based contemporary Carnatic progressive rock
band. The band was formed in the year 2003. The current lineup consists
of Harish Sivaramakrishnan (vocals and violin), Ganesh Ram Nagarajan
(drums and backing vocals), Swamy Seetharaman (keyboards and
lyricist), T Praveen Kumar (lead guitar), Aditya Kasyap (bass guitar and
backing vocals),

Sanjay Subrahmanyan
Sanjay Subrahmanyan is a Carnatic vocalist from India. He was awarded the
Madras Music Academy's Sangeetha Kalanidhi in 2015. This is the highest
honour that can be bestowed on a Carnatic musician. Sanjay Subrahmanyan
began learning music in the year 1976, when he was just eight years old.
After learning to play the violin from V. Lakshminarayana and vocals from his
aunt late Sukanya Swaminathan, he proceeded to learn Carnatic vocal music
from Rukmini Rajagopalan for a period of almost eight years, until 1988.
Sufiana Qalam
Mukhtiyar Ali
Mukhtiyar Ali is a folk singer from Bikaner in Rajasthan. He was born in a small
village called Pugal on the North West frontier of India and belongs to the
semi-nomadic community of Mirasis, who have been the traditional carriers of
the oral tradition of Sufiana Qalam in India. Mukhtiar blends the Rajasthani folk
idiom with refined classicism to sing the poetry of Kabir, Mira and Sufi poets
such as Bulleh Shah. Through the Kabir project, Mukhtiyar was spotted by
world music circuits and made his international debut in July 2007.

Bangalore based folk-rock band Swarathma come into
their own as India's leading folk rock acts. The sound of
their sophomore offering, that comes three years after the
eponymous first album, sees Swarathma getting
comfortable in their own skin.
SUFI
NAGORE BOYS
The little town of Nagore in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu is home to a Sufi
shrine dedicated to the saint Meeran Sahib Abdul Qadir Shahul Hamid Badshah. This
shrine is ever resonating with the transcendental music of a troupe of devotional
singers Sufi singers who use music as a mystical medium, to reach states of
religious ecstasy and spiritual awakening. The Nagore Boys Abdul Ghani, Ajah
Maideen and Saburmaideen Babha Sabeer are three devotional singers from this
dargah. This devotional song Karunya Kadaasarae Haja speaks of the greatness
of the saint Hazrath Khwaja Garib Nawaz.

All The Fat Children


ATFC is composed of Eben Johnson on guitar and vocals, Vickram
"Vicky" Kiran on bass and vocals, Sachin Savio Dane on drums.
Naveen Thomas Joseph and Bryden Stephen Lewis play the guitar
on occasion. ATFC plays Fat Rock, a genre they coined to term
their "fat" sound. Career - ATFC has its roots as a college band
from Christ University

of their most loved, which talks about economic disparity.All
bands have an 'origin story' and its one they considerably
enjoy telling. Thakara, however, prides itself on the fact that

John P Varkey Slow Pedallers


John P. Varkey is an Indian guitarist, songwriter and composer. He began
his career as a session guitarist. Brought out three albums with
jigsawpuzzle by the label of BMG CRECENDO was innovative and well
accepted by the new generation lead the formation of band Avial (band).
John discontinued from Avial (band) and independently directed music
for many Indian big time feature films with prominent productions and
directors.
THE DOWN TRODDENCE
TDT has always been noted for its unique blend of conventional Thrash
and Groove Metal with a large dose of traditional Kerala folk music
elements, art forms such as Theyyam in particular. The band also
incorporates a lot of traditional folk sounds and instruments in the form of
ambient layers in their music. Rhythm structures used in their songs too
are primarily inspired by folk music. Lyrically the band has a strong
philosophy of talking about inequalities and injustices which are ever
present in India's social and political systems.

MOTHERJANE
Motherjane was one of the first bands to start fusing rock with influences
from the vast soundscapes of India. Thus creating an original sound for
themselves they have two studio albums under their belt. The first album
'Insane biography' released in 2002 is still regarded as one of the most
influential records in indian rock.Their second offering 'Maktub' in 2008
gave a clear niche to the band and made everyone sit up and take notice.
Motherjane has also done an OST for the movie 'Anwar' directed by Amal
Neerad.
MONTRY THALAVATTOM
The main vision of project Thaalavattam (A percussion based project) is to create music
using innovative instruments made from waste plastic and metal (reduce. reuse and recycle).
Thaalavattam aims to clean up the plastic waste that is plaguing India, through music. At the
moment in India, Thaalavattam also conducts rhythm rush ( A drum circle event) through
which we try to encourage people to recycle and re-use waste materials. Thaalavattam also
has an interior designing space (where-in, Furniture is made from scrap)
This is a percussion-based project by Montry Manuel, which uses instruments created from
waste plastic and metal with the aim to inspire people to think creatively about waste. His
instruments are mainly created from reused paint cans, soda cans, PVC pipes etc. mimicking
the street drummers. The basic ideology is that everyone can be a part of the circle.

DANIEL WAPLES
Daniel Waples is truly a pioneer of the newly invented handpan
instrument and is arguably the most recognized player in his field. He
travels globally to share his passion and introduce his music to new
listeners.His skills on the handpan are self-taught, and many aspiring
players often sight his technique and philosophy of composition as an
inspiration.He works with different styles of music, mixing them and
creating something new and beautifully unique.
SALIM NAIR BAND
The Salim Nair Band is a live digital post classical project of the
namesake.Trained as an engineer and Indian classical flautist, Salim has
been searching for a novel production method that allows him to express
the intricacies and nuances of Indian musical tradition within a digital
setup.

SAMVED
Samved is an electronic music project that explores new
possibilities in classical music by fusing it with electronic
dance music
