Background >>

With the continuous development of mobile communication networks, the number of users of mobile intelligent terminals is increasing
rapidly, mobile data services develop rapidly, data traffic is expanding exponentially, a variety of new services are emerging one after
another in the network. These services greatly enrich people lives, bring huge profits to carriers, and also bring many challenges.

O&M costs of network optimization are increasing.

The network is becoming more and more complicated, for example, a hybrid network architecture of 2G, 3G and 4G network types.
Services types are increasing and different services raise different network quality requirements. These problems raise higher
requirements upon network optimization O&M, so the O&M costs of network optimization are continuously increasing.

Service traffic is increased, but carriers profits are not.

Some low-value services, such as the P2P service, greatly occupy network bandwidth, so carriers must continuously expand the
networks to meet requirements. However, these services do not bring profits in conformity with their costs, and pure network expansion
is hard to solve this problem. Thus, it is imperative to perform traffic optimization and control based on the network situations.

Number of complaints is rising.

With the explosive increase of network signaling and traffic, a large number of network resources are consumed. Problems, such as
slow Internet speed, playing of videos getting stuck, or service interruption, frequently occur, leading to a continuous increase of user
complaints about data services. Thus, it becomes more and more urgent to rapidly and effectively resolve complaints about data
services and locate faults.

Network contents are invisible.

Contents of service channels are not fully visible, so the distribution of data streams is unclear. Traditional network KPIs cannot truly
reflect the qualities of data services and user experience, so an effective end-to-end measure for analyzing and evaluating service
qualities and user experience is not available.

Carriers become channelized.

Due to the high level of openness provided by the mobile Internet, a large number of data services are provided by service providers,
instead of depending on carriers. Thus, in order to provide services of different levels to different users and different businesses and
improve network values, the carriers must enhance analysis and management & control upon data service contents and user behaviors,
and implement delicate operation of data services.
In an increasingly competitive era of all-business operation, carriers must transform extensive management into fine management,
optimize the QoS, provide users with better services to improve user experience and user satisfaction, excavate targeted and
differentiated service products to improve product competitiveness, so that they can remain invincible in the competition.

Service Scenarios >>

ZXVMAX(Value Multi-Analysis The Value Multi-Analysis Expert (ZXVMAX) system is a user-orientated end-to-end product for network
O&M and operation analysis. By making perception into and analysis about the network and service information from customers point of
view, as well as flexibly mining and analyzing a huge amount of data, the ZXVMAX makes full-around mining upon service qualities and
features during service use from multiple dimensions, such as NEs, users, terminals, or services. The ZXVMAX supports two modes: real-
time monitoring (for example, network quality monitoring, monitoring upon abnormalities with VIP users, intelligent service management
and control), post-analysis (analysis about user complaints, VAP user mining, end-to-end problem analysis). These two modes provide full
supports for the O&M and operation of the mobile communication network.

The ZXVMAX system helps the network construction, operation and maintenance optimization, client service, and user data value mining,
and is mainly used in the following scenarios, see Figure 1.

1..1 Functions
This section describes main ZXVMAX functions.

Sub-topics:
F Parameter Analysis Function
F Coverage Analysis Function
F Event Analysis Function
F User Analysis Function
F Terminal Analysis Function
F Service Analysis Function

1.i.1.1 Parameter Analysis Function

,vervieM >>

Parameter analysis includes planning, check, and optimization upon major wireless parameters. Wireless parameter planning is mainly
applied to the networking planning, design, and construction phase, parameter check is mainly applied to the networking commissioning
phase and network O&M phase, and parameter optimization is mainly applied to the network O&M phase.

When analyzing ZXVMAX parameters, you need to pay much attention to the scrambling code PCI*PN, adjacent cell, and frequency
parameters that affects network operations.

Parameter Paanning>>

When a site is added into a mobile communication network, appropriate parameters must be configured for this site to ensure that this site
can coordinate with other sites in the network to provide services.

The ZXVMAX system supports parameter planning in a new network or when a new site is added into an existing network.

The parameter planning function focuses on cell identification parameters (for example, scrambling code, PCI, PN), and parameters of
adjacent cells that affect coordination between cells.

Parameter Check >>

In a mobile communication network, cell parameters may be affected by surrounding environments. Some resources may be multiplexed by
surrounding cells, so unreasonable configurations affect the network quality. In addition, different parameters inside one cell may also be
associated or restricted. Thus, it is necessary to regularly check parameters to ensure reasonable parameter configurations.

Parameter aptimiration >>

During the actual network operation process, unreasonable parameter configurations may lead to a series of network problems. Therefore,
it is necessary to optimize network parameters based on the actual operation data.

The ZXVMAX system supports event-based partial parameter optimization and statistics-based global parameter optimization.

1..1. Coverage Analysis Function

,vervieM >>

The coverage quality of a mobile communication network is the key factor that affects user experience in the network. The ZXVMAX system
supports statistics and evaluation of the network coverage quality and specialized analysis about problems related to network coverage.

Coverage Statistics >>

The ZXVMAX system supports statistics of the coverage levels of different NEs and an overall evaluation of the network coverage situation,
to provide reference for assessment about the carriers network construction and network expansion decisions.

Anaeysis About Probiems teeated to Coverage >>

In a mobile communication network, coverage-related problems, such as weak coverage, coverage holes, overshoot, and pilot pollution,
may seriously affect user experience and thus must be prioritized.

The ZXVMAX supports coverage problem mining, analysis and locating, and solution output. Coverage-related problems are reflected as
various events under most situations. The ZXVMAX system can associate the analysis of other problems with coverage-related problems
and coordinate data to solve problems.
1. .1.v Kvent Analysis Function

overvie >>

In a mobile communication network, users may encounter various abnormal events, which seriously affect user experience.

Through analyzing various data, the ZXVMAX locates various faults and proposes suggested solutions.

The ZXVMAX system mainly focuses on analysis and optimization of events of the access type, holding type, and QoS type.

Access-yype lvents >>

For both voice services and data services, it is critical to ensure normal access of users.

The ZXVMAX system supports statistics of access indicators on different dimensions. It provides the function of filtering events based on
the severity level by NE, user, terminal, or error cause. The ZXVMAX system also supports associating, mining, and locating problems on
different dimensions, so that the customer can focus on problems and solve them.

povding- ype ivents >>

For voice services, call drop seriously affects user experience. For data services, though the mobile communication system has the
automatic re-connection capability, frequent call drops also affect indicators that are sensitive to user experience, such as the service rate.

The ZXVMAX system supports statistics of call drop and connection loss indicators on different dimensions. It provides the function of
filtering events based on the severity level by NE, user, terminal, or error cause. The ZXVMAX system also supports associating, mining,
and locating problems on different dimensions, so that the customer can focus on problems and solve them.

Service ruanity-iype nvents >>

Voice service quality mainly refers to voice quality, for example, one-way communication, and poor quality (MOS or EMI). For data
services, service quality events are mainly reflected as great delay and low rate. Because different services have different real-time
requirements, their requirements upon the delay and rate are also different.

The ZXVMAX system supports statistics of service quality indicators on different dimensions. It provides the function of filtering events
based on the severity level by NE (including CN NE), port, user, terminal, or error cause. The ZXVMAX system also supports associating,
mining, and locating problems on different dimensions, so that the customer can focus on problems and solve them.

1. .1., ser Anarysis Function

overvie >>

During the operation of a mobile communication network, nowadays the carrier cares more about how to improve users service
experience, instead of simply competing KPIs with other carriers.

Based on the IMSI information carried in CDRs, the ZXVMAX system can clarify users that CDRs belong to, and therefore evaluate and
analyze the service usage of users. The user analysis function mainly evaluates user sensitivity, analyzes VIP and VAP users, and
analyzes user complaints.

ser zeperience mvaauation>>

User experience about different services is the basis of user-level analysis. The overall user experience is derived based on the overall
consideration of different factors, such as the access performance, service holding performance, and service quality of users.

VrP user Anacysis>>

VIP users bring greatest values to carriers, so the service quality of these users must be guaranteed preferentially.

The ZXVMAX system allows the customer to mine and analyze real-time events of VIP users, locate problems rapidly, and provide
reference for solving problems. In addition, the customer can focus on analyzing and optimizing value areas where VIP users are most
active, thus to improve user experience. The ZXVMAX system allows the customer to form reports about VIP users service situations on a
regular basis, facilitating O&M personnel to make analysis.

VAP user Anacysis >>

For carriers, users with high service traffic but relatively poor service experience are most likely to change to other carriers. To keep these
users with relatively high values, it is necessary to find them out in time, identify and solve their problems, and improve their service
experience.
The ZXVMAX system allows carriers to regularly find out VAP users according to the assessment results about service traffic and user
experience, and generate analysis reports about VAP users, which both guide optimization and allow carriers customer support personnel
to support users actively.

Kser Complaint Anacysis >>

If any fault occurs to a service, some users may make complaints. The carrier customer service and operation & maintenance department
must focus on how to dig complaints and provide solutions.

The ZXVMAX system enables you to quickly find out the CDRs of complaint from mass data, locate faults for abnormal CDRs, and provide
solutions.

1. .1., erminap Ananysis Function

overvie >>

In a mobile communication network, the service capability and frequency-band supporting capability of online terminals affect the carriers
network construction and development policy. In addition, the poor quality of inferior terminals is also an important reason that affects user
experience.

As its CDR data source includes the IMEI information, the ZXVMAX has the capability of making analysis based on terminal models.

pumber o perminats >>

A carrier must know about the distribution of terminals in the network, to provide reference for the centralized purchase of terminals and
network development.

The ZXVMAX system supports making statistics of terminals based on the terminal manufacturer or terminal model. It also supports making
statistics of terminals based on the frequency-band supporting capability and protocol version supporting capability of terminals.

The ZXVMAX system allows the customer to evaluate the supporting capabilities of terminals in different areas based on the carriers
network development policies, providing reference for the carriers network development and centralized purchase of terminals.

erminas indicator statistics>>

The ZXVMAX collects statistics on KPI"QoE indicators based on terminal models, supports indicator threshold-based or Top N-based
filtering function used to find out terminal defects.

The ZXVMAX system also allows the customer to make statistics of service usage based on a terminal model, to determine whether there
is any abnormality with service support by this type of terminals.

1. .1., Service Anaeysis Function

overvie >>

In this mobile Internet era, service types are diversified. Different services occupy different resources and impose different indicator
requirements. Thus, it is critical to analyze, evaluate, and then optimize the usage of services.

According to the service data collected from its software and hardware, the ZXVMAX system allows the customer to monitor service usage,
make statistics, and build business models accordingly, thus to analyze abnormal usage of services and perform intelligent management
and control upon services in case of overload.

Monitoring and Statistics o Service sage >>

The ZXVMAX system can monitor the usage of services in a real-time manner or quasi real-time manner, evaluate the usage of different
services in different areas, and thus discover abnormalities in time.

The users can make statistics about the usage of different services and build business models accordingly.

The users can make statistics about service usage of different ports and different NEs, thus achieving channel visualization.

The users can analyze and predict service usage variation trend for network construction.

Service Abnormayity Anacysis>>

In case of abnormal service usage, the ZXVMAX system allows users to locate problems from multiple dimensions in an end-to-end
manner.

nteZXigent Management and Contro >>

If the service traffic exceeds the threshold, the ZXVMAX system can restrict the bandwidth in real time. On the one hand, it guarantees the
user experience of VIP usersi on the other hand, it guarantees balanced service use of normal users.

1.., Services
Sub-topics:
F Consulting services

1. .1.1 Consurting services

Svervies >>

Based on mass data mining, the ZXVMAX system provides the carrier with the consulting services, including the network evaluation
consultation, network development consultation, service development consultation, marketing policy consultation, and valuable city
consultation.

Network evaluation consultation

The ZXVMAX system can make evaluation upon a mobile communication network from multiple dimensions, such as its coverage, KPIs,
and services, for the carrier to determine the current situation of the network and major conflicts that exist in the network. It provides
references for the carrier to take further measures.

cetrork Devedopment Consu tation >>

According to the load distribution in a multi-mode network, as well as the capability of online terminals, distribution of value users, and
service development trend, the ZXVMAX system can dig out value areas from multiple dimensions, and help carriers to determine the
development policies that shall be taken in a specific network and a specific area, thus providing guidance for the carrier in network
construction.

Service Devedopment Consu tation>>

Based on service statistics and service development trend analysis, this service provides the carrier with valuable service or similar service
development consultation.

Marketing Poiicy Consuttation >>

Terminal marketing policy

ketaork Soiution cor the Data Coolection fayer

>>

For the logical structure of the data collection layer, see Figure 6.
Figure et ork So ution o the C Co ection ayer

The data collection layer of the CN side comprises signal collection devices, probe sub-system, and DCU sub-system. The probe sub-
system identifies and decapsulates original signals collected from the wireless links and the core network, converts the information into xDR
interface messages, and then transmits these messages to the DCU sub-system. The DCU sub-system summarizes, extracts, converts the
messages, and outputs the results as a file. This file is saved and analyzed on the storage analysis layer.

The data collection layer of the CN side uses hard collection mode in normal cases. Implemented by using professional devices, hard
collection can be implemented in the following mode based on the collection mode with collected links:

Type 1: Signals are obtained from the link through routertswitch port mirroring. This type is simple, as it is only needed to connect the
mirrored port with the data source system. A disadvantage of this type is that extra traffic is incurred and thus affects network operation.
Type 2: The original link is copied, split, and then connected to the data source system. If the collected link is electrical, a TAP device
can be used. If the collected link is optical, an optical splitter can be used.

Optical splitting collection is the most common collection mode. Through parallel connection of optical splitting devices in the link, a beam of
light is split into two or more beams and distributed to different devices. The optical splitting access mode is applicable to 1000 Mbps, 10
Gbps, or larger Ethernet optical links. This mode does not add extra load to the inspected network and thus the inspected network will not
be affected.

qypica Co yection Point oet ork Soaution >>

According to the type and structure of the operation network, and different requirements upon analysis data, during actual applications, the
Prober system needs to collect data on different interfaces. The following describes typical collection solutions:

For the Gn interface collection solution of the GSM UMTS network, see Figure 7.

Figure Probe System kn onteroace Coheection So ution in the ye ,eteork

In this collection solution, the RNC does not connect to the GGSN by using a DT, which means that signaling and media data are all
transferred by the SGSN. To analyze one or more SGSNs, data is collected on the SGSN side. Both the signaling data and the media
data between the RNC and the SGSN are collected.
Based on actual network solution, data can be collected on the GGSN side to analyze one or more GGSNs, or collected on the Iu-PS
interface to analyze one or more RNC.

For the PI interface collection solution of the CDMA network, see Figure 8. Depending on whether an HA device exists in a network,
collection points may vary. In addition, the hybrid mode (only some users use the HA device ) may exist in the network. In the following
diagram, collection points are not separated.

Figure o Probe System Pi interdace Coneection Sodution in the CDMA oettork

If there is no HA in an actual network, it is not necessary to set a collection point between the PDSN and HA.
By default, a collection point is set between the PDSN and HA, and both MIP data and media data can be collected.
For the collection solution of the LTE network, see Figure 9.

The system supports data collection at the S1-MME, S1-U, and S11 interfaces. Data collection devices include splitting and
convergence devices (configured based on the traffic volume) and data sources (providing protocol decoding, composition, and XDR
sending interfaces). XDR data can be provided through file or real-time message interfaces.

Distributed Design >>

The ZXVMAX is designed in a hierarchical and distributed mode. Function modules operate independently, and they process services in
distributed mode in an interconnected network. The failure of one module does not affect the proper operation of the entire system.

edundancy Design >>

The ZXVMAX system is built based on big data technologies, such as the Hadoop technology, by using general hardware components that
are relatively easy to acquire. Key hardware nodes in the system are designed in masteryslave redundancy mode to improve reliability.

Master.slave Hadoop Name Nodes

The Name Node is the master node of Hadoop. In a commercial system, the same Name Node servicruns on two servers, to ensure
that the system is not affected when any node is damaged.

Redundant disk array

The servers, operating systems and local storage devices on the collection layer and the application layer are configured in RAID5,
RAID10 or other disk array modes as needed.

Pover Suppyy oesiabitity>>

Each general server is provided with dual power supplies, which ensures that the server is not down and its hardware is not damaged when
the power supply module is damaged or the power supply environment is changed.

1. ., Sodtnare eiiabirity
oose CoupRing Design >>

The ZXVMAX uses a hierarchical modular structure, and all software modules are designed on the basis of a loose coupling mechanism. In
other words, when a software module becomes faulty, the effect on other software modules can be reduced to the minimum.

Fauet soferance>>

The ZXVMAX performs periodical key software resources detection, real-time task monitoring, storage protection, data verification, and
operation log storage to avoid the attack on the system from slight software errors and improve the fault tolerance capability of the software
system (the self-healing capability upon software errors).

Faukt Monitoring and uandting >>

The ZXVMAX has a function of automatically detecting and diagnosing the system software and hardware errors. It can automatically
separate, switchover, restart, and reload the faulty hardware.

,ot Patches >>

When devices are operating, corresponding software should be modified periodically for better adaptability and fault elimination.
Modifications include fixing system defects and adding new functions as required. The commonly used is to shut down the device and
upgrade it, which affects system services and does not help to improve the communication service quality.

The ZXVMAX supports hot patching for the host software, which can be dynamically upgraded online without affecting system services. It
greatly improves the communication service quality.

Vuonerabinity Scanning>>

To prevent the system from being attacked by other devices in the network due to safety vulnerabilities, the ZXVMAX must meet
requirements of mainstream safety vulnerability scanning tools.

The ZXVMAX meets safety loophole scanning requirements of two tools: Nessus and CD.

1.. Data be iabiNity

The ZXVMAX system can guarantee that data on different layers is reliable and can be recovered.

Data coouection eayer>>

The operating environment for the NDS on the collection layer is designed in the redundancy disk array mode. In case that a server is
damaged or a single disk is faulty, the system can operate properly after the faulty hardware is replaced and no data is lost. In addition, the
system supports supplementary collection of data, which ensures data continuity.

Storage and Sharing ayer >>

The Hadoop cluster on the storage and sharing layer is constructed based on the industrial big data solution. All the files in the HDFS
system are configured with multiple redundancy schemes. Damage to a single node does not affect the operation of the entire system, or
result in data loss. After the damaged hardware is replaced, the system automatically restores the data by using the redundancy function
and balances loads.

To ensure system performance and prevent data loss, the relational database on the storage and sharing layer is designed to operate on
the external redundant disk array configured with two controllers.

Appeication Anasysis iayer >>

The operating system and software modules on the application analysis layer are deployed on the redundant disk array. If a single disk is
damaged, or the host is faulty, the software and configuration data is not lost.

1.. etnorking te iabinity

The ZXVMAX protects services and devices by using redundant switches and redundant Ethernet tunnels in each host network.

When a single switch is faulty, data is switched over to the standby switch to prevent service interruption. When a transmission fault occurs
on a single network link, the standby link still operates, thus preventing service interruption.
