FHDL’s unique training methodology is designed to provide an effective and complete spectrum of
skills in an interactive and lucid manner. It is multi-dimensional and encompasses methods which
address a gamut of skills required by the service economy. FHDL’s training methodology combines
the best of technology and conventional learning and training coupled with field study in Retail
Stores / Malls

1. Courses and Curriculum

The MBA Retail and MBA Entrepreneurship are divided into four Semesters. There are seven to nine
courses in each semester. However, in Semester 4, the students are required to do Project Work and
Viva. Hence they will be required to spend more time in the field doing Project. The students will go for
internships at the end of second and third semesters. Each semester has adequate amount of theory,
practical sessions, field work and soft skills sessions.
The BBA Retail and BBA Entrepreneurship are divided into six semesters. There are four to five courses
in each semester.

2. Workbooks for Internship/ Field Visits

Internship is the practical training in all relevant functional areas and soft skills that’s been taught in the
classroom. Students are aligned with various formats and given specific areas to gain practical
knowledge. To assess the quality of learning a workbook is designed (for the course Internship and Viva)
which captures the key learning areas expected of the students. The workbook will contain a few
exercises/assignments which need to be completed by the students periodically. This workbook will be
submitted to the concerned faculty /mentor for evaluation.

3. Audio Visual Material

The audio-visual material used for training is produced by a team consisting subject specialists and
creative thinkers. The material is periodically reviewed and updated by technical experts and field
practitioners before every reprinting to be current with subject data. Many of these visuals have been
developed using retail field experts and practitioners.

4. Assignments
The students will be given assignments, short questions and exercises, activities and case studies on
every course. The assignments are designed by the faculties to assess student’s learning on various
topics. These assignments are open assignments and students can interact with faculty, practitioners
and peer group students and consult books, journals and magazines for preparing assignment
responses. The students are required to submit the assignments on time. Assignments carry specific
weight age of marks under continuous evaluation.

5. Classroom Sessions
Classroom sessions are technologically-advanced learning environments that are safe, healthy,
comfortable, and aesthetically-pleasing. These sessions are managed by the faculty, practitioners
and professionals with state-of-art facilities. They facilitate a variety of adult learning techniques,
role-plays, lectures, group discussions and group learning activities. Attending to classroom sessions
is compulsory as these sessions would facilitate student-teacher and student-student interaction /
discussion. Specific weightage / marks will be assigned for attendance to encourage
better student participation and interaction with a view to encourage students to get maximum benefit
out of them.
