KIRAN NADAR MUSEUM OF ARTS
ABOUT KNMA-
Established at the initiative of the avid collector Kiran Nadar, KNMA (The
Kiran Nadar Museum of Art) opened its doors to the public in January 2010,
as the first private museum of Art exhibiting Modern and contemporary
works from India and the subcontinent. KNMA as a non-commercial, not-
for-profit organization intends to exemplify the dynamic relationship
between art and culture through its exhibitions, publications, educational and
public programs.

ASTHETIC DETAILS-
KNMA is a single floored museum at the south court mall. A large
block is separated with wooden walls plastered and painted in pale
white color, texture of the walls was grained for better grip of
paintings. There are two main entries that are accessible from different
blocks of the mall. Both the entries lead to reception area, which is
beautifully decorated with wooden textures and other material and a
small art shop from where u can buy some small item such as. Books,
paintings etc.

LIGHTING-
The main focus was put on the LED lighting, and flood lights were
used rarely. LED are directional lights and are used to highlight the
important and focused things in the whole environment and to create
deep shade and shadow for the desirable effect. So, they were used to
highlight the precious paintings, sculptures, and other decorations. As
it is inside the mall so it is only artifically lightten, there were no
window slits of incoming natural lights.

SECURITY-
As it is the center of the most expensive Asian arts so the security is
tight. There are individual guards assigned t0 have a watch over the
each individually divided space. There are CCTV cameras covering
each rooms & every angle so as to look for every bit of activity taking
place inside the premises.
FIRE SAFETY-
For fire safety certain protocols are announced i.e. while taking
any photograph no flash will be used because paintings could
catch fire.
Fire hoses are not used because water could destroy the painting

PLAN-
The big block is divided in 13 smaller rooms without doors, and one
hall type of space. Each room contains works of different artists. As
mentioned.
