Essay 1

1. Given the lack of resouces in our rural areas in Philippines, what media can still be used
for effective learning in schools? Why?

Answer:
Chalk and board are the media that can be used in effective learning in school despite of
lack of resources in rural areas of the country. Every classroom has chalk and board where
learning and teaching process happen. Teacher can use these learning materials to visualize
what he or she wants to explain and emphasize about the lesson to the learners. It is also the
most affordable media instructions. Through these learning materials, students can also use
these to show their answers in any given activity like board work. Other common visual aids
can use in effective learning are the manila papers where lessons are illustrated already. All
the learning materials being stated can help students to understand the lesson.
2. Computer shops are pervasive around schools, but these are mainly used for playing
games. Without judging on the possibly dehumanizing effects of excessive computer
gane habits, how can a learner best use computer resources as they may be available in
schools or at home?
Answer:
The learners can use best the computer resources if the parents will guide them on how to
use it properly. Parents must give rules and regulation when the students use the computer.
For example, parents will give a time limit and parents will make sure to monitor and aware
what students are searching for. Parents must explain well that a computer is for research
study. The computers available around the school must also impose rule and regulation when
students used it.

1. As a teacher, I learned how to make a good presentation of lesson in my class when Im

teaching.
2. I learned the importance of the computer application in my studies and everyday life
because it can help me searching my reports, assignments and research paper.

Essay 2

1. All college students are presently required to take Computer course including word
processing, spreadsheet operation presentation techniques etc. how do you think this will
help application of skills needed in Educational Technology 2?

Answer:

As a teacher someday, it is very important to take computer courses because we are now
in the world of fast technology. Students nowadays are very smart in using computers and
technologies, so I need to adapt this fast changing technology so that I can go with my students
world too. It will help me to make a presentable report not only for our students but also for our
teachers. I can make a good presentation that will arouse my children attention when I present a
PowerPoint or slide presentation that they can understand easily. Through spread sheet
preparation, I can compute grade easily. All of these are evidence that I can work fast and easily.

2. From those who have done internet surfing/searching/reading, what do the website offer
users?

Answer:

The websites offers everything. In just one click of our finger, we can get lot of
information. It offers also different games that makes you relax and happy. It offers also
different social networking where people can connect easily. There are free software and
educational media that are downloadable which help us to enhance our knowledge. It only
shows that these websites can help us a lot.
3. Do you think there are enough websites for educational purposes? Do you think there are
many users of educational websites?

Answer:

Yes, I think there are enough websites for educational purpose and there are also many
users of educational websites. Nowadays, most of students go for websites to gather
information and search for their assignment. They go for websites because it easier,
affordable and it can access easily. Some of teacher use different social networking for their
students communication like Facebook and Edmodo. They also ask students to go internet
surfing and exploring for the new lesson or for research paper.
