The Photon field test helps consumers select the best module supplier based on product
performance in the field. The 2011 results demonstrate the excellent performance of REC
modules and their best-in-class return on investment.

ABOUT THE PHOTON TEST

Test results
The test is conducted by the On average, REC modules generated more electricity than 45 other module
independent laboratory of brands, producing 6 percent more energy. REC multicrystaline modules
the leading industry magazine outperformed 45 different types of modules, including thin film and
Photon, and is currently the monocrystaline products. The highest performance ratio of 90.8 percent
and also the highest yield of 1150.4 kWh/kW were measured for the REC
most recognized yield
module. Over the last 24 months, REC modules have maintained a leading
performance test comparing position in the Photon Test, ranking second overall in 2010.
international module brands over several years, during
different seasons and in different light conditions.
Monthly comparison of module performance
Since 2005, Photon Lab has operated an ongoing Photon test 2011
test that monitors the energy yield of solar modules kWh/kW
from leading manufacturers. This test compares the 180

energy produced per kilowatt of installed power of 150

the participating modules, under identical conditions. 120
