POINTS TO IMPROVE USAGE OF LIBRARY

1. Not every visitor to the library will intuitively understand how to use it, even if youve
designed an incredibly usable library. Hold training sessions to make it easier for people
to navigate through stacks.
2. Installation of photocopier in Library.
3. Every Book should be placed in its allocated shelves.
4. Increase the copies of books prescribed in the course plan.
5. Place a Notice board in Library to inform all the activities that occur in and around our
college as well as other colleges (symposiums, conferences)
6. Devote an area to reading magazines, another to doing research, yet another to individual
studying, and so on.
7. Encourage usage of laptops in library.
8. Make library look like an inviting bookstore to encourage reading and visitors.
9. Give assignments which are to be completed by referring library books.
10. Accessing Journals and IEEE papers must be allowed for students only at Library.
11. Some parts of periodicals and other magazine section can be kept at ground floor.
12. Reference section must be spacious to allow comfortable reading (i.e., change the reading
desk orientation such that students can navigate freely)
13. Novels of standard authors such as Harry Potter, Sherlock Holmes, and Lord of the rings
can be installed in the library to improve reading interest of students.
14. Increase the number of computers in library.
15. Make arrangements to view educational videos in library such as NPTEL.
16. Keep some competitions related to library usage and create awareness among students to
improve their reading habit.
