John Barrett, State Strategic Water Information Coordinator,

John Barrett’s current position is jointly funded as a partnership between


the Australian Government through the Bureau of Meteorology and the
South Australian Government. He is responsible for the coordination
of multiple water management agencies to deliver high quality water
information to the nation, governments, industry and the community. In

Rhys Moult, Web Development Project Leader, City of Salisbury
Local CC champions panelist

Rhys is currently working at the City of Salisbury as the Web


Development Project Leader and is keen to implement Creative
Commons licensing and open data in the new site to meet some of the
recommendations of the Government 2.0 Taskforce. Rhys also runs his
own business and has licensed his business website as “CC BY” and has
reused CC content for several web based projects for his business and
for university studies.

Jacob Simionato, Wholesale Meat Direct


CC snapshot presenter

Jacob Simionato has been recording local bands in commandeered


suburban lounge rooms for several years, and enjoys the community
spirit of self-sufficient music production and distribution. In recent
times he has attempted to learn to use a real studio through study at
the University of Adelaide, but will surely return to domestic spaces on
graduation.

Neale Hooper, Program Manager, Government Information Licensing


Framework Implementation Strategy, Queensland Government

Neale Hooper is the principal lawyer for the Queensland Government’s


Government Information Licensing Framework (GILF) Project and
has led the project’s legal work since its inception in 2005. Neale
was recently appointed to the position of Program Manager of GILF
Implementation Strategy. Neale is a leading IP and ICT lawyer with over

20 years experience with Queensland Crown Law, providing specialist
1 September 2010 law services in these areas. Neale was recently a lead researcher on the
Melbourne CRC-Spatial Information Project ‘Enabling Real-Time Information Access
in Both Urban and Regional Areas’. Neale has a Master of Laws from
2 September 2010
University of Queensland, and has been an adjunct lecturer at QUT Law
School since 2003.
