Journal

Week one:

In the first day in my TP, I sited with my MST before the assembly and I talk to her about
what I will do during my teaching practice. Then, I observed students when they had an assembly.
After that, I attended the first circle time and I observe her when she introduces a letter s for
the students. She had a small door on the board and she asked students to guess what behind the
door. Then she showed them a picture of the letter s. Then she sang a song for the students
about the letter s. After that, she asked students to write the letter on the air. Then, she moved
to another part of the lesson, which was girl and boy. She wrote a sentence on the board I am
a then she asked each student to say if he/she is boy or girl. In the second period, my MST went
to the KG 2-1 to observe the students and ask them questions when they were in the areas. After
the lesson, I talked with my MST about school day structure because it is new.

In the second day, my MST did morning welcome period. She took attendance, sang days
of the week song and review the colors for the students. After that, she asked students about
their feeling and how many boys and girls in the classroom. In the second period, my MST
observed, ask questions and do some activities in math with KG2-2 students. During story time,
she read a story, which was the very hungry caterpillar. She gave the students activity about the
organizing event. During this day, I worked on behavior management because Arabic teacher
does not have good management during the circle time and when she do transitions.

In the third day of my teaching practice, my MST taught KG2-2 students about I see a .
She wrote a sentence on the board and she asked students about what they see. After that, she
taught them about girls and boys. Then she took five students to do activities with them. She did
craftwork with them about the story that they took the day after. Then, the students went to the
playground after playtime they have a meal. In the second period, my MST went to the KG2-1
with Hamda to do her duties there.

In the last day in the first week, my MST went to KG2-1 with Hamada to teach them
literacy (letter s). In the second period, I went with my MST to KG2-2 to observe another teacher
when she teached the students math. When she does the math activities, my MST took a small
group and taught them about the number in English. In the story time, I read and reviewed the
very hungry caterpillar story. Then, I asked the students about the character and food. After that,
I gave them activity about the story.

Week two:

In the first day of my second week in the TP, I attended the assembly, which includes
national anthem and exercises, which my MST did it with the students. In the morning period, my
MST took attendance and ask students about days of the week, date, weather and color. In the
first period, I taught students about the letter a. I try to use new lesson structure and I thought
I cant change the lesson structure because it is hard for the students to adapt to the change. In
the second period, my MST went to the KG2-1 with Hamda.

In the second day of the second week, KG2 students and teachers went to the field trip
and my MST stayed in the school and observed KG 1-2 students because the teacher of this class
was absent. During the first lesson, the teacher gave them activity, which is crab craftwork. She
gave the students this activity because the theme is about animals. Then we took the students to
the kitchen to eat their meal. After that, the students went to the center and my MST and I
observed them.

In the third day of the second week, my MST changed her schedule because KG2 went on
the field trip and she needs to teach students a new letter. She went to KG2-1 with Hamda. In the
second period, I went with my MST to KG2-2 to observed Arabic teacher when she teaches the
students. After that, my MST took a group, she did math activity for them, and I took a group to
play with them about the letter a. During story time, I read the brown bear brown bear what
do you see? Story. Then I gave them activity about the story.

In the last day of the second week, my MST went to KG2-2 students to do whole class
welcome and introduction to the day. In the first period, my MST taught KG2-2 students about
the letter a. After that, she took one group to do an activity with them and Arabic teacher took
one group to do Arabic activity with them. The rest students went to the center. In the second
period, my colleague Hamda went to the KG2-1 with my MST.

Week three:

In the first day of the third week in my TP, when I arrived at the school my MST told me
there is no electricity in the school and the teachers did not know how to deal with this problem
because they thought the class is hot and they cant teach students inside it. I think good teachers
should have plan B for this problem and they need to know about how to deal with these
situations. In the mourning period and the first period, my MST went to KG2-1 with my colleague
Hamda. After the break, I went with my MST to KG2-2 to observe the Arabic teacher while she
taught students. During the activities, my MST took one group with her to give them activity in
English. In the story time, she read to them a story and she gave them activity about the story.

In the second day of the third week, my MST went to KG 2-2 with me and she taught the
students about the letter T. After that, she took one group to do an activity with them. The
principal observed my teacher during her lesson and she gave me her feedback to translate it for
my teacher. After that, the students went to the playground. In the second period, my MST went
to KG 2-1 with my colleague Hamda to give the students activity and read the story for the
students.

In the third day of the third week, my MST went to KG 2-1 with my colleague Hamda.
After the playground time, the KG2 students went to my class and the Arabic teacher taught her
lesson. During the activity, my MST took one group and she gave them activity about the letter
T. In the story time, I read for to students the polar bear polar bear what do you hear story then
I gave them an activity to do.

In the last day of the third week, my MCT told us that she will not come to observe us. I
taught students literacy, which is the letter t. I gave them activities and I assessed their learning.
After that, the students went to the playground. After the brake time, my MST went to KG2-1 with
colleague Hamda.

Week four:

In the first day of the fourth week in my TP, I went with my MST to KG2-2 and she taught
letter p. She gave them activity about their names. After that, she took students to the
playground. After the break, my MST came to observe me so I taught KG2-2 letter p again. Then,
I sit with my MST to listen to her feedback.

In the second day of the fourth week, the Arabic teacher of the KG 2-2 was absent so my
MST taught KG2-2 and stay with them during the school day. In the mourning period, she took
attendance and she sings with them morning song. In the first period, she played different videos
for them. Then, the students went to the playground to play. After their break, I completed the
activities with the two groups and the rest of the class stay on the carpet with my MST and she
gave them another activity.

In the third day of the fourth week, KG2 students have field trip (aquarium). My MST sit
in the school and she observed KG1-1 students in their class because their teacher was absent.
She gave them craftwork and play different videos for them.

In the last day of the fourth week, I attended the assembly, which includes national
anthem and exercises, which my MST did it with the students. My MST went to KG 2-1 with my
colleague Hamda to teach them the letter p. In the second period, my MST went with me to
KG2-2 to observe the Arabic teacher while she taught students. During the activities, my MST took
one group with her to give them activity in English. In the story time, she read to them a story and
she gave them activity about the story.

Week five:

In the first day of the fifth week in my TP, I went to the KG2-1 with my MST and my
colleague Hamda. My teacher will not teach KG2-2 because she observed KG1-1 students in the
second period. In this day, the administration sent a new time schedule to the teachers and we
discussed the new time schedule with the MST. In KG2-1, my MST taught students about the letter
i, color, parts of plant and blinding. During the activities, the teacher took one group to outside
the class for the outdoor activities, and she taught them about the parts of plants. In the second
period, we observed the KG1-1 students and we gave them activities that related to the theme.

In the second day of the fifth week, my MST was in KG2-2 with me. During morning period,
the vice principal told her to go to KG2-1 because the Arabic teacher of KG2-1 will go to the KG1-
1. My MST change her. In the first period, my MST went to KG1-1 to observe the students with
Hamda and I. after that, the KG1 went to the library because there were two women from social
development center came and gave students some activities. In the second period, I went with
my MST to KG2-2 to observe the Arabic teacher while she taught students. During the activities,
my MST took one group with her to give them activity in English. In the story time, she read to
them a story and she gave them activity about the story.

In the third day of the fifth week, the Arabic teacher of KG2-2 was absent, so my MST
told me that she would teach the KG2-2 students for two periods. I stayed in the resource room
and I prepare for the lesson quickly. I decided to teach the students on Wednesday but I change
because the MST will teach the students for two periods. I taught the students about parts of a
plant during the first period. In the second period, my MST taught the students about the letter
i.

In the last day of the fifth week, MST taught the KG2-2 because the Arabic teacher of KG2-
2 was absent. She reviewed with them about the parts of plant, color, and letters. In the second
session, we took the students to the library to watch a movie.

Week 6:

In the first day of my sixth week in the TP, I attended the assembly, which includes
national anthem and exercises, which my MST did it with the students. Then, my MST went to the
KG2-1 to teach them with Hamda. After the first session, the school did fire evacuation to practice
with the students. In the second session, my MCT observed Hamda and me.

In the second day of the sixth week. I attended the school and my colleague Hamda told
me that the MST would be absent this day. I sit with my colleague Hamda to finish our pair
assessment and our research.

In the third day of the sixth week, I went to KG2-1 with my MST. She did morning routine. After
that, she reviews with the students the letter n and she did a revision of the color, letters, and
parts of the plants. In the second session. We went to KG2-2 to observe the students and ask them
questions when they were in the areas.

In the last day of my sixth week, I went with my MST to KG2-1. She taught them blinding first she
reviewed the previous letters then she used cards to ask students to read the words that in the
cards. In the second session, my MST went to the bookshop to buy materials because tomorrow
will be Flag Day and she needs to do activities with the students. Therefore, I sit in the resource
room to do my work and when she arrived, I prepared with her for tomorrow.

Week 7:

In the first day of the last week of my teaching practice, I attended the assembly, which includes
national anthem and exercises, which my MST did it with the students. The teacher divided the
students into two group boys and girls because the boys went on the trip together. MST did not
go on the trip because she wants to sit with the girls in the school. She covered one class because
the Arabic teacher was absent.
In the second day of the last week, I went with the teacher on trip for the girls. This trip was in the
Al Dhaid club. Before we go to the trip, we asked the girls to go to the cafeteria to eat. Then, we
count the girls before they ride the bus. When they arrived at the place, my MST and I organize
the students. After the students watched the movie, we went back to the kindergarten.

In the third day of the last week, I went with my MST to KG2-2. The principal wants to observe
MST so I canceled my lesson and I gave my activities to my MST. When she had finished, the
principal gave her feedback about her lesson. After the break, my MST, Hamda and I went to the
KG2-1 to observe them and gave them activities.

In the last day of m teaching practice, I went with KG2s to the book fair. It was a good trip and I
enjoyed. In the end of school day, I collected my evaluations sheets and said goodbye to my MST.
