2. Tuesday Work Day in Revising/Editing Persepolis Literary Analysis
Use the checklist to revise and edit your essay.
Sit down to conference with me either today or Wednesday if needed on your
writing. I will not retell you the story of Persepolis that is up to you to dig back into
the text for evidence.
Make sure that you leave a reflection recounting the changes you made to your
essay before you turn it back in on Wednesday, October 18. Change made in order
to accommodate missing Friday.
3. Wednesday Work Day in Revising/Editing Persepolis Literary Analysis
Revision due today.
4. Thursday Protest Documentary Film
As a class you will be choosing the protest film on Tuesday/Wednesday.
Take notes on the ways they protest in this film and whether you agree or disagree
with these tactics.
Also take note of how successful they were at protesting. Did they get what they
wanted?
These notes will be used in re-writing your protest essay in the pre-test writing
from the beginning of the year.
5. Friday Protest Documentary Film
Take notes and be prepared to discuss the film at the last 15 minutes of class.
Turn in your notes for credit.

Learning Objective for the Week:

Students will be able to respond in discussions and in writing, using


personal, literal, interpretative, and evaluative stances, to a film based on
the topic of protest.
Students will be able to engage in informal writing assignments (i.e. reader
response, freewriting, focused freewriting, prediction, response journals,
dialectical notebook entries, and other pieces of writing that they do not
take through the entire writing process) by using a writers journal.

Students will be able to engage in formal writing assignments that require


utilization of all stages of the writing process by using the writers journal for
pre-writing and rough drafts.
