If no AC test equipment is available or the test is to be executed with a DC voltage, the AC test
voltage shall be multiplied by square root 2 to obtain the required DC test value.
No-load test (over the whole speed range):
Motor shaft voltage
Motor noise test

Routine tests shall be carried out on one VFD of similar rating and to be attended/ witnessed by
FEWA at the manufacturers premises. Balance units shall be internally tested at manufacturers
premises and results shall be submitted to FEWA for approval before dispatch.

Performance Test of the VFDS:

Performance tests shall be carried out at the manufacturers premises (in motors drive factory) in
the presence of FEWA, and shall be carried out with VFD and related phase shift transformer and
motor on at least one of each group of similar systems under load condition or simulated load
condition.
The performance test shall include but not be limited to the following tests:-

Heat run:
The VFDS shall run under the load and speed conditions at which the maximum temperatures will
be reached. The unit is to run until the temperatures of all components have stabilized, and
continue for a minimum of 2 hours.

Measurements:
