Background: Increased life expectancy resulting in increase in the population aged.

In the process of aging can be physical changes, psychological and psychosocial
which may affect the elderly prone to experiencing depression, especially the elderly
who live at the center Werdha who do not have family support fully. In addition,
elderly people with low education with knowledge about the psychosocial minimal so
it can be a factor causing depression. With this, the researchers wanted to know the
relationship between level of education and family support with the level of
depression in the elderly who do not have a spouse living in the Home Werdha Mulya
Dharma Pontianak.

Objective: To determine the association between level of education and support for
families with elderly depressed levels of the elderly who do not have a spouse at the
Children Werdha Mulya Dharma Pontianak

Methods: This study used adesign. cross-sectional Ressponden in this study were 30
respondents were selected usingtechniques a total sampling in accordance with the
inclusion criteria set by the researchers. Then the data obtained in a test
usingCorrelation Spearman RankTest.

Results: The results oftest Spearman Rank for analysis of the relationship between
education level or rank of depression is obtained with a value of value = 0.784> =
0.05, while the analysis of family support relationship with the depressed levels of
values obtained value = 0.386> = 0, 05

Conclusion: there is no correlation between level of education and support for

families with elderly depressed levels of the elderly who do not have a spouse at the
Children Werdha Mulya Dharma Pontianak
