Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
As a class we will review Verbs, Adjectives, and Nouns. We will discuss each part of speech and I will answer
any questions the students have concerning verbs, adjectives, and nouns. Also I will emphasize the
differences between the three parts of speech. At this point in the school year the students should already be
familiar with verbs, adjectives, and nouns separately and now they will be given the chance to identify them
together.

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity:


During the Activity the students will be given 10 questions about Verbs, adjectives, and nouns. The students
will be given 20 seconds to answer each question. After a question is asked, the answer will be revealed to
the students and as a class we will discuss why the correct answer is the correct answer and I will answer any
concerns the students may have. There will also be a reward for the top 3 scoring students at the end of the

game to encourage participation and accuracy during the activity. This activity can take up to 30 minutes
depending on the amount of discussion between each question.

Why or why not? I feel like it is important for the students to get immediate feedback so that the question is
still fresh in their mind and they can see exactly where they went wrong and can gain understanding so that
hopefully they do not miss the question again.

Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity? After the activity students will fill out a worksheet to
reflect on the Kahoot.it. They will be expected to write out what questions they got wrong and why they got
them wrong. The students will also get an opportunity to voice whether or not they liked doing the Kahoot.it
and what they liked and disliked about the activity. There will also be a section where students can write out
questions they may have had that they were not comfortable asking in front of the class.

How will the data be used?


The students will not receive an accuracy grade for the Kahoot.it but they will get a participation grade. I will
also keep the data and use it to decide groups for upcoming activities involving verbs, adjectives, and nouns.
Students who scored higher will be given more difficult tasks while students who scored lower will be given
more practice and assistance until they get a deeper understanding of the topic.

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.


I hope that the students can identify verbs, adjectives, and nouns altogether. Up until this point the students
just focused on one part of speech and this is their first exposure to identifying different parts of speech in
the same activity.
