NWretainingwallandpreparationsforbridgedemolition.

ProgressinOctoberwillincludethefollowingactivities:

Piledrivingforthenewbridge
Constructionofatemporaryshoringwall,whichisneededtosupportthedetourwhile
constructingpartsofthenewbridge
PlantingandrestorationoftheareaabovetheNWshotcretewall

FORECAST:

Althoughtherehavebeensomedelaysrelatedtotheinstallationoftemporarywaterworks,
crewsrecoveredtimetoo,openingthedetourbridgeaheadofschedule.Progresstodate
indicatestheprojectwillbecompletedontimeandwithinbudget.

2.1.1 EuroviaBCInc.(EBC)andSubcontractors

InstallationoftemporarywatermainsneededtobypasstheoldMontroyalBridge.
Chlorinationandpressuretestingofthetemporarywatermains..

2.1.2 ThirdPartyUtilities

FORTISGAS:[NoChangefromAprilProgressReport]
Fortiscompletedservicerelocationsfor557PalisadeandFirehall#3in2016.Two
temporaryserviceswereinstalledtoservice4590and4596SkylineDrthissummer,
whichwererequiredtodecommissionthegasmainwhichcrossestheoldMontroyal
Bridge.Thisworkwascompletedonlyafterafterlengthycostnegotiationswith
FortisBC.Fortisattemptedtoholdtheprojectschedulehostageforpayment.These
negotiationsregardingcostsharingareongoing.
BCHYDRO(BCH):
HydrocompleteditsTask004(lineandpoledemolition)thatwasrequiredbefore
bridgedemolition.

GoodlinesofcommunicationareopenbetweenDNV,BCH,andEBC.Coordinationis
ongoingandingoodstanding.
TELUS:
TelushadnoworkinSeptemberontheproject.Teluslinescrossingtheoldbridgewill
bepreservedwithonegirderstayingup.Goodlinesofcommunicationareopen
betweenDNV,TEL,andEBC.Coordinationisongoingandingoodstanding,although
uppermanagementcontinuescostsharingnegotiations.

5.0 TRAFFICSUMMARY
5.1 IMPACTSTOONSTREETTRAFFIC

SingleLaneAlternatingTraffic(SLAT)takeshastakenplaceoften,andisauthorizedto
continueoccurMondayFridaybetweenthehoursof9am3pm.Shortdelaysoccur
becauseofthis

SLATwasauthorizedbetweenthehoursof7am8pmonanumberofoccasionsforcritical
watermainwork.Thiscausesmoresignificantdelaysandwillonlybeauthorizedas
absolutelynecessary,althoughithelpswithcrewefficiencyandproduction.

Firetruckshaveemergencypriorityduringthistimeandaccessismaintainedinandoutof
theFirehallatalltimes.

5.2 IMPACTSTOOFFSTREETTRAFFICANDPARKTRAILUSERS

MosquitoCreekTrailisphysicallyclosedapproximated50mnorthandsouthofthesite.
Advancedsignagewaspostedatthenearesttrailheadsandthenearesttrailintersections
severalweekspriortothestartoftheclosure.Thetrailisexpectedtobeclosedforthe
durationoftheproject,untiltheendofsummerof2018.Pedestrianaccesswillbe
maintainedalongtheexistingsidewalkonMontroyalBoulevard.

6.0 ENVIRONMENTALSUMMARY
Therehavebeennoreportedenvironmentalincidentsonsite.Treeprotectionfencing,silt
fencing,andcatchbasinfiltershavebeeninstalledandmaintainedthroughoutthesite.
