Students can access Google Drive by setting up a Google account.

Associated Learning Standard(s): The resource may be generally applicable, if so, simply state that. List any ISTE-S standards that
seem to naturally align with the selected resource.

This resource is generally applicable.

ISTE-S Standards:
1. Empowered Leaner
Students leverage technology to take an active role in choosing, achieving and demonstrating competency in their
learning goals, informed by the learning sciences.

7. Global Collaborator
Students use digital tools to broaden their perspectives and enrich their learning by collaborating with others and
working effectively in teams locally and globally.

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Google Drive allows students to create and edit documents, slides, sheets, and forms collaboratively from any device. Students are
able to work together on various projects together in live time on separate devices. Students are also able to send their work to
their instructor, and the instructor can be invited to see the progress of student work. Anyone with a Google account can be invited
to view the work, edit, or share feedback!

INTEGRATION IDEA - COLLABORATION

How might you integrate this resource in a lesson plan to promote collaboration among students in your classroom, or among
students and others outside of the classroom?

Students will be able to work together in and out of class when working inside a Google Drive program. Teachers can assign group
work that each student can contribute to simultaneously throughout the class period. Students will be able to view and edit each
others work easily (and its paperless!). Google Drive is a key resource for teachers to integrate into their lessons for team
research, projects, class handouts or lectures, peer reviewing, and so much more! Teachers and students will find this resource
very easy to use in collaboration promotion, replacing Microsoft Office and other tools that dont allow students to work
collaboratively.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
Based on the value-added rating scale above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource?
Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.

I give Google Drive a 3 on the value-added scale, because it allows students to work together on projects simultaneously in a way
that other programs do not. Students are contributing to group learning as well as review the work of their peers simply by sharing
links to each other. The simplicity of the software makes it invaluable to student and teachers who hope to create a collaborative
environment. Students no longer need to huddle around one computer while one students does all the work!
