GROUP LEARNING EXPERIENCE PLANNING SHEET

Student Name: Amanpreet Jassal Course Code: ECS 4070

Age Group: Kindergartens Date: October 18, 2017

Learning Experience: Cube with different domains

Programming Purpose: Last week in class, my classmates created and implemented this activity. I thought
it was super creative and the children will benefit from it and have a good time. I know this activity will be
successful because the children are all close friends, active and creative.

Objective:

Children will enhance social development in friendship (1.1 in the elect document) as they sustain play
with others. For example, they will shake hands with children.
Children will strengthen emotional development in self-esteem (2.3 in the elect document) as they see
themselves as a valued member of the group. Every child will get a turn to participate. Children will also
show pride in their achievements. For example, if the child sang all their ABCs or even attempted too you
can admire the childs achievement which promotes a positive sense of self.
Children will enhance cognition in counting (4.12 in the elect document) as they count the dots on the
dice.
Children will enhance social skills, specifically in co-operation (1.3 in the elect document) as they co-
operate and participate in activities together. For example, if a child lands on sing the alphabet and clap
your hands they might feel put on the spot. As an ECE I can invite the other children to participate with
the child.
Children will enhance cognition within games with rules (4.11 in the elect document) as they conform to
the rules of the games. Whatever side of the cube they land on they must do.

Materials:

Two cubes: one with the dots representing how many reps they must do, the other with an activity
from different domains.

Opening (Introduction): Can everyone make a cig circle around the carpet please. Whoever is sitting
quietly with their legs crossed will get to go first!

Body (Content)

1. I will start off by explaining the activity to the children. Each child will get a chance to roll the two
dies. If a child rolls the number 4, and rolls jumping jacks the child will have to do 4 jumping
jacks.
2. I will do a demonstration by modelling which will provide the children with an example of what to
do and the behavior.
3. I will use behavioral reflections to inform the children what they are doing. Jackie just gave
everyone a high 5.
4. If a child is having difficulty reading the cube, I tell explain and inform the child on what to do.

Closing (Ending): Did everyone have fun? What side of the cube was your favorite?

Transition: We are going to go to our desks and do some work sheets now.
