Notes on the Fruits of Knowledge

1 Knowledge of Allah.

This includes knowledge about the names, attributes and actions of Allah SWT.

Ibn Taymiyya RA said : Whoever's heart has even a little bit of life for seeking knowledge, or
a desire for worship, his greatest concern and goal would be seeking the knowledge of the
Names and Attributes of Allah, asking about it, and knowing the reality of it.

He also said : The souls which are pure (i.e that have not been corrupted) do not
long and desire for anything more than this.( i.e. Knowing Allah )

So to busy ourselves in seeking knowledge of the Asma and Sifaat and acting upon it
is busying ourselves in fulfilling the reason for our existence.

It is the foundation of realizing Worship of Allah swt, and to be heedless about it, is
to be heedless about this great goal.

(65:12) -

It is Allah who has created seven heavens and of the earth the like thereof (i.e.
seven). His Command descends between them (heavens and earth), that you may
know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah surrounds (comprehends)
all things in (His) Knowledge.

Whoever is more knowledgeable about Allah will fear Allah the most.

The Prophet SAW was the most knowledgeable of Allah so he said, Verily I am the
most knowledgeable of Allah amongst you and the one who fears him the most.

He also said : I do not envy anyone (i.e. wish to be like them) except the one who
knows his Lord.

And the envy in truth is to want to become like the one who has knowledge of his
Lord and knows Him by His Names and his Attributes.
