SESSION PLAN

COURSE: ABE Level 3 Certificate in Business Start-up


ELEMENT: Element 6 Create a business plan an pitch
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
3. Reflect on the process of developing a business plan and pitch as part of the entrepreneurs personal development
(developed in Element 2) in order to identify areas for further development to support the business start-ups success
(Weighting 20%)

3.1 Review the business plan and pitch to improve approach, structure and content
3.2 Review the PDP (developed in Element 1) to highlight successes and areas for further development
3.3 Produce an updated PDP to continue to improve personal performance and to build entrepreneurial skills to drive and
develop a successful business start-up

NUMBER OF SESSIONS: Two - approximately three hours in total


SESSION TOPICS: Session 1: Review the business plan and pitch
Session 2: Review and update the Personal Development Plan

Note to tutors: this is the recommended session plan for learning outcome 3 of element 6 of the ABE Level 3 Certificate in
Business Start-up. You should follow the plan, using the resources (referenced as slides here) and activities provided. It is
important to enhance all sessions with local examples and case studies, involving the learners ACTIVELY wherever possible.
