Application and entry procedures for the scholarship recipients

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR POSGRADUATE STUDENTS

Graduates who hold a diploma obtained outside the European Higher Education Area
can access a masters degree without the official recognition of their diploma after a
prior verification by the University of Jan. The diploma needs to accredit the same
level of education as an official Spanish university diploma and has to authorize access
to postgraduate studies under the issuing country's national education system.
Entering postgraduate education through this procedure is not, under any circumstances,
equivalent to the official recognition of the diploma held by the applicant nor
recognition for purposes others than taking the masters degree.

In this case, the scholarship holders must pre-enroll from 1st July to 25th August (second
phase) or from 27th September to 2nd October (third phase). Through the following link:

- Scanned copy of the university diploma. In this case, if possible, please provide
a certificate from your university that states that the obtained degree grants
access to a masters degree.
- Scanned copy of the official transcript of records.

When the list of the pre-enrolled admitted students is published, they need to
matriculate between September 14th and September 19th (second phase) or from 14th

II.- Students who have studied a university degree abroad:

A.- Students who have a foreign university degree

You have to apply for an official recognition and/or validation of your foreign
university degree as an equivalent to the Spanish degree from the Spanish Ministry of
Education, Culture and Sport. Once the Ministry grants the validation of your degree,
you can enter a Spanish university degree following the same admission procedures as a
Spanish applicant, only that the average mark on your academic record will be 5.

B.- Students who have not fully completed their university studies abroad or
failed to have their foreign university degree validated by the Spanish Ministry of
Education, Culture and Sport

In this case you can apply for a partial validation of credits that are transferred from
the courses you have completed and that correspond to the Spanish university degree
you are interested in. The application should be made directly to the Spanish university
in question.

If the university resolves to validate 30 core credits you will be able to enter the degree
that the validated credits belong to, according to the entry procedures established by
each academic center.
In both cases it is recommendable that students apply for the partial validation of a
foreign university studies at the University of Jan. You can find more information on
(http://www10.ujaen.es/conocenos/servicios-unidades/sga/tramites/grado/reconocimiento/extranjeros)

Required documentation:

- Application for a partial validation of university studies completed abroad.

- Educational credentials accrediting the level and type of studies that the
applicant wishes to validate, issued by a corresponding institution.
- Curriculum or program of studies of the degree the courses you wish to validate
belonged to, issued or published by an official Academic Center.
- Course or credits program that lists the content and range of the subjects that
have been studied, endorsed by the Centre.
- Official document accrediting the identity and nationality of the applicant.

All the documents submitted for validation should be original and authenticated through
diplomatic channels (in case of submitting photocopies they should be checked against
the originals and authenticated via diplomatic representation or Spanish consulate in the
country where the documents were issued). If non-Spanish, a certified literal translation
must be submitted with all documents.
To avoid delays, it is recommended to accompany the corresponding Spanish
translation of all documents made by a sworn translator. There is a chance that
translation might be required later.
The application form is available on
(http://www.ujaen.es/serv/vicint/assets/uploads/docs/internos/convalidacion_hoja_(eng_
spanish).pdf )
The documents must be sent in a single pdf file to secretaria-j@ujaen.es until July
20, 2016. The name of the file must comprise the surname(s) and the last name of
the applicant (surname_name.pdf).
