 ACADEMY IN ACTION
HOW WE ROLL
At UWSA you will need to stay adaptable. We strive
to keep you on a consistent schedule however because
we partner with business professionals, sports leaders
and other academic professionals and we need to
accommodate their availability to deliver the high-
quality curriculum.
Academic classes are scheduled for 3-4hours per day
either in a morning or an afternoon program. Our days
are longer than most schools starting at 8:00 am and
ending at 5 pm. The good new is there is a break in the
middle of the day for lunch, going to the gym for a
workout and time to relax and catch up on
assignments. You will then have 3-4 hours for your
sports training or Sports Journalism, Broadcasting or
Management classes.
UNIFORM
This being our first year we will hold a design
collaboration and we will seek a consensus on our
uniform. The colours are in a range of blue, white and
gold. How we put together our academys look will be
directed by you we provide some guidelines and need
to approve of the final look. Hey we do need to be
professional and cool at the same time.
Do you have an eye for design and fashion then why
not come prepared with some drawings as an example?
Who knows you might find your concept as our
academys uniform.
TRANSPORTATION
Walk, Bike or take the Bus. If you do take the bus
which is the School Hooper which is supplied by the
BOP Regional Council make sure you have your bus
pass loaded so you can cover the daily bus fare. The
#62 Bus comes right to the school from downtown.

FOOT HEALTH
Yes. The foot is the platform for all that we do as
Athletes. There is an additional fee for this which is
$499. Should your coach be concerned about your
feet we will take you to our local podiatrist and have
them expertly examined and if needed will get you
fitted for your custom orthotics.
BIOCHEMICAL INDIVUALITY
(NUTRITION)
Sounds complex, doesnt it? Well we believe we all
are unique and not all of us have the same dietary
needs.
As Athletes, we will want to be able to perform at our
optimum potential having the right fuel in the engine
will be essential.
Costs will vary on this as an initial consultation and
analysis. Estimated at around $300 and then a monthly
supplement fee estimated from $90-$250 pm.
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
TRAINERS, SPORTS COACHES
We are bringing in the BIG GUNS so to speak and
you are getting the Star Athlete treatment. It may be
challenging but preparing you to be the best in your
sport and in life means having the experts and the
commitment to the journey. Extra Fees do Apply and
are estimated at $200-$350 per month depending on
your sport program. We have arrangements with local
Gyms and Sports Training Centres.
 COMMUNICATION WITH PARENTS
Staying in touch is important so between social media, emails, text messages, phone calls
parents and guardians will be kept informed on how their child is doing. Parents will receive a
monthly newsletter.

Years 7-9

Assessments and constructive feedbacks will keep parents regularly informed of their childs
progress and an end of year report will be issued.

Years 10-13

Written reports will be provided each year to keep you informed on both their academics and
sports performance and possible recruitment opportunities.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Will be scheduled in Term 2 and can be accommodated both in person or via Skype for
International Students. Should a translator be needed we can do our best to accommodate that.
WHAT SETS US APART?
Our Academy is where the Academics are taught and it is located within the Bethlehem Community
Church Centre. Our Campus is the community-at-large. We will be at various venues primarily
around the local area and BOP and Waikato Regions which allows us to utilize amazing venues for
our training purposes. Physical Conditioning partners are Athletic Factory and Aspire Health &
Sport.

Badminton, Table Tennis, Volleyball will be at local venues such as Blakes Park, Mount
Maunganui Sports Centre, ASB, Queen Elizabeth Centre.

BMX will be at the Tauranga BMX Tracks on Cambridge Road or we will head out to other venues
within BOP and Waikato Region.

Circus Arts will be at Butlers Circus Warehouse and Te Puke Gymnsport & Parkour

Golf will be at various beautiful Golf Clubs around BOP and Waikato Region

Skateboarding will be both at the local Skateboarding Venues and the local community

Students will be transported back and forth between Academy and Training Venues daily.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
AND GUIDLNES
NO LIMITS PRO SHOP
Our Proshop will have uniforms and other UWSA designed clothing for sale. All profits go to
our Endowment / Scholarship Fund. Uniforms need to be clean and in good condition.

Make sure your name is on all your belongings including clothing use your full first and last
name eg. Danny DoGood. Not D. DoGood or Danny D. or D.D.

Jewellery is permitted however you must remove it when doing your training and sport
training. Earrings, nose rings, lip rings, belly piercings etc. must be removed or covered by
surgical tape before you head out to work out at the gym or train in your sport. This is for
Health and Safety Reasons so we need you to be responsible in adhering to that. Necklaces
that hang below the clavicle also must be removed prior to training.

Nail Polish & Make up is permitted though must not be offensive. Please consider your
setting for your academics, the academys Christian principles and your teachers, coaches and
classmates when deciding your choices.

Hair colouring, dreads, or extreme hair styles are permitted however must allow you to wear
appropriate safety gear such as helmets, goggles, etc when training.

Hygiene is important so make sure you shower regularly and apply appropriate deodorant.
Please keep body sprays and perfumes to a minimum so as not to offend those around you.

UWSA has a zero tolerance for drug and alcohol. As athletes, we would expect you to take
care of the instrument you have been provided with and not fill it with toxins that would
inhibit your mental and physical ability. If we suspect you have drugs or alcohol on you we
will take the appropriate steps to have your items / locker checked and if found you will be
suspended or expelled.

Language we encourage you to be expressive, inquisitive and complimentary in your

communication. We do not tolerate foul language. This may be part of your lingo with your
mates but has no place in the Academy or our training facilities or with our training partners.

Sun ProtectionNew Zealand has the highest rate of skin cancer than anywhere else in the
world wearing an appropriate hat, sunglasses and SPF 30+ will be needed by all students,
staff and coaches.

The following is a summary of the costs (in NZ dollars) of education at

United World Sports Academy.
Payable to United World Sports Academy Limited

- ENROLLMENT FEE:
- All applications for enrollment must be accompanied by a non-refundable fee of $250.00
- HOME STAY:
- Placement Fee is $450.00
- Weekly Fee $300.00
- TUITION: (per annum incl. GST):
- Years 7-8 $32,100.00
- Years 9-10 $34,100.00
- Years 11-3 $37,100.00
- All Years Winter Sports $ 49,995.00

FAMILY CONCESSION:
For families with two or more children attending the Academy concurrently, the Academy offers
a 10% discount on tuition fees and 5% discount on Home Stay Fees.

Payable to Sports Education Trust Limited
ACCEPTANCE FEE:
An acceptance Fee of $3,500 is required once a place is offered. This fee is applied to a Deposit
towards Tuition $2,000, a Pastoral Fee of $150.00, Building Fund Contribution $1,100.00 and Media
Fund Contribution $250.00. These fees are non-refundable.

STUDENT PRINTER CREDITS AND ID CARD

A charge in Term 1 for all Students $30.00 (incl gst) $20.00 for printing credits and $10.00 for
the ID card. Unused printer credits will be credited to the students Sundry account at the end of
the year upon leaving.

SPECIAL CHARACTER CONTRIBUTION

This is a voluntary contribution as outlined under section 37 of the Private Schools Conditional
Integration Act 1975. While collected by the Proprietor. It is donated in full to the Sports
Education Trust to assist the Academies budget. The amount qualified for a donation rebate for
tax purposes.

SUNDRY
Additional Costs for Academy activities (such as field trips, homework resources, ESOL,
chiropractor, massage therapy, monthly gym fees (12-mo paid membership due in Term 1), fitness
and sports trainer, special assessments. To be charged to the students Sundry Account for settlement
on a monthly basis. Parents prior written approval is normally requested.

PAYABLE TO NO LIMITS PROSHOP

- Uniform Costs estimated $350.00-$700.00
We are designing our uniform package for this year with the students. However, we believe a good

GENERAL
INVOICE ENTITIES

Separate invoice statements are issued monthly for each of the Proprietor (United World Sports
Academy Limited and No Limits ProShop) and for the Sports Education Trust (SET) Invoice
statements are issued on a family basis, with each childs costs itemized, therefore most families
will receive two or three statements each month.

TERMS OF PAYMENT

Options Available:

By term in full before first day of the term commences

Monthly Direct Debit on 20th of each month equal amounts commencing January for the
Proprietors accounts and on the 20th of the month following invoice statement for the School
Sundry account

Payments to the Academy for International Students will be made through our Cohort Payment
Portal. Login Details will be provided upon a place being offered to study at UWSA.

LATE PAYMENTS AND DEBT COLLECTION

Interest may be applied to overdue balances, or the debt referred to a debt collection agency with
collection costs recoverable.

ENDOWMENT FUNDS

The Academy has created various income streams those profits from those are put into the
Endowment Fund and those are used to support our Scholarships and Sports Travel Costs.
Special Circumstances as approved by the SET can also be covered by the Endowment Fund.
This may hardships incurred from medical emergencies when travelling or competing in the
students sport, parent or guardian travelling with team and for the various philanthropic interests
of the SET and UWSA.

NOTIFICATION OF LEAVING UNITED WORLD SPORTS ACADEMY

A full terms notice in writing is required. Failure to comply results in a charge of one terms
Tuition Fee.

TUITION FEES:

United World Sports Academy (Proprietor) is fully owned by the Sports Education Trust (SET).
Private Independent Schools are required to source their own budget for premises, staff salaries,
administration costs, and capital expenditures.

SPECIAL CHARACTER CONTRIBUTION

This fund contributes to the overall budget of UWSA and the ability for it to maintain its quality
education and programs and can vary from year to year. This is a volunteer contribution as
outlined under Section 37 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975. While

STAFFING

Professional Development and Staff Budget Requirements. We expect our teachers and coaches
to be the best and provide with time and a budget for their professional development and we
believe in paying our staff a fair salary as they bring tremendous value to our Academy and to
the lives of our students and their families.

Additional Subjects and Classes We are committed to offering essential subjects for students.
Additional staff and resources are needed to deliver these. Extra staff are required to provide for
many our Science courses that are offered at the Senior Secondary level. Funding is also
provided for extra learning supports and Mori cultural programs.

BUILDING FUND CONTRIBUTION

We need to plan for our future growth and being able to plan for large premises as the academy
grows is essential so that we can mentor and lead the next generation and assist in providing
them with the best possible opportunity and outcome for their lives.

MEDIA FUND CONTRIBUTION

Our Academy heavily relies on Media in its Sports Journalism, Sports Broadcasting and Sports
Management programs as well being utilized by all the athletes in their sports trainings. It is
imperative we keep our Media accessible and in optimal function for the use and training of our
students.
