O 0130 Urea Cyclization Reaction Studies. In order to achieve the
44 - 053 synthesis of N--hydroxy-- functionalized urea intermediates, the reactivity
of various urea derivatives toward glyoxylic acid derivatives and tartrates is
studied. The most interesting result is the unexpected formation of new 1,4,6-
oxadiazocinetriones (III) by acid-catalyzed condensation of glyoxylic acid with
