Lesson Title: The four seasons

Objectives: This lesson plan was created to remind students about the four seasons of weather.
This lesson will be taught after I give them a brief description of each season to refresh their
memories. Students will be able to identify the four seasons and the weather patterns that fall in
each season.

State Standards:
K-4 The student will demonstrate an understanding of seasonal weather changes.
K-4.2 Compare the weather patterns that occur from season to season. Taxonomy level

Context: This lesson plan was created to remind students about the four seasons of weather. This
lesson will be taught after I give them a brief description of each season to refresh their
memories.
Materials: Computers, tablets, books, their teacher, library, You-Tube,

Procedures:
Introduction (10 minutes): I will start off class by taking attendance. I will then count off
students and put them into groups of 4. Each group will get assigned a specific season and will
have to research to describe that season.

Teacher Directed (15minutes): I will start by giving each student a handout of the four
seasons and then we will go over each one. Through out the reading of each season, I will ask
them questions and they will give me answers.

Collaborative (15 minutes): The students in the groups will pick a season and do more
research on it. When they are finished researching, they will present their assigned season to the
rest of the class. After each group has finished presenting, I will provide them with a short quiz
on each season.

Independent Digital (15-minutes): Students will test their knowledge on the seasons by
taking a short quiz. This quiz is 5 questions long. https://www.proprofs.com/quiz-

go much into depth about the questions and it doesnt use big words.

Closure (5 minutes): To close the class, I will have students listen to a short song about
the four seasons, so they can have an even better understanding of the four seasons.

Rationale:
(Website): The website, https://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/story.php?title=four-
seasons_1 is a website with 5 short questions about the four different seasons. This short
quiz will help students prepare them for tests.

(Song.): This song will allow my students to leave my class knowing the seasons better
and hopefully be able to talk to other students about it. I will play it at the end of the class
so that it is stuck in their head when they go home.
