Week 1: Nov/09-11/2016

Wednesday I introduced myself to different stake holders of the factory and workers. I gave the
Nov/09/2016 paper to the company manager and registered company many tell me stay rule in
company
Thursday Ato Ephirem gave me brief information about Hawassa textile share company
Nov/10/2016 I visit starting bale room to finishing room.
Friday Ato Grima gave me overview of the company and the raw material required.

Week 2: Nov/14-18/2016

weekdays Activities
Monday I visited bale glow room and carding machine room.
Tuesday I identify and understand the material used in machine.
Wednesday Visiting three room by Girma in detail
Thursday I have seen motor starting method.
Friday Practically begin direct on line starting method.

Week 3: Nov/21-25/2016

weekdays Activities
Monday I identify material needed direct online (DOL). For e.g circuit breaker, fuse, start
and stop push button and contactors.
Tuesday I did control circuit diagram for DOL. by supply source.
I understand how to control the system
Wednesday I construct the power and control circuit diagram for direct on line.
Thursday I saw while motor run by given power
Friday We discussed in group about circuit breaker, fuse, start and stop push button
and contactors
Week 4: Nov/28-30/& Dec /1-2/2016
weekdays Activities
Monday I identify the materials needed for forward and reverse control circuit. E. g CB,
fuse, start and stop push button, contactors and signal lamp.
Tuesday I construct control circuit of forward and reverse on circuit board.
Wednesday I saw stop signal gives light when CB is closed.
Thursday I construct power diagram for forward and reverse.
I saw while motor gives forward and reverse
Friday I have seen meggar , it used to check insulation test and continuity test.

Week 5: Dec/5-9/2016

weekdays Activities
Monday I identify what type of materials are needed for star and delta
motor starting.
Tuesday I construct the control circuit for star and delta motor starting
.star start and after time set delta start.
Wednesday I construct the power diagram of star and delta motor starting.
Thursday Nation nationalities day celebration.
Friday I find faults for one motors by giving power and disconnect wire,
I identifying the types of faults.

Week 6: Dec/12-16/2016

weekdays Activities
Monday I saw materials needed to control one motor from three different places.
Three start and stop push button, over load relay and contactors
Tuesday I construct it on circuit board . I saw clearly how to control from three
places.
Wednesday By supplying power ,we can easy control from different practically
Thursday I identify the meter to check continuity test.
Friday For meter when we check continuity test by multi-meter on terminal load
numbers.

Week 7: Dec/19-23/2016
weekdays Activities
Monday Mr Abela give me overview of blow room and spinning room.
Tuesday I saw practically inverter. During we use inverter we can control speed ,we
set frequency ,acceleration and deceleration time.
Wednesday I did dynamic break on circuit board .then I supply 110v to overload relay
and ac with 110v advantage of dc to control

Friday I saw machine run by dynamic break. it is called drawing machine.

Week 8: Dec/26-30/2016

weekdays Activities
Monday I saw material required for automatic sequence starting of three motors
with time delay.
Tuesday I construct automatic sequence starting of three motors with time delay on
circuit board.
Wednesday By giving the power supply, I check how motors run.
Thursday I have understand the operation automatic sequence starting of three
motors with time delay.
Friday I have seen different types of fuses.

Week 9:Jan/2-6/2016

weekdays Activities
Monday At this day, I saw while roving motor repaired . This motor is connected in
star(Y) connection.
Tuesday I have seen the operation of loom machine. It is operated by getting the
input from sizing machine.
Wednesday I observed the operation and parts of carding machine. This machine run by
inverter.
Thursday I saw the operation of drawing machine. it have first and second passage .so
it is strength and the length of yarn increase.
Friday At this day ,I saw the operation and parts of open end. It is operated by
getting input from drawing machine ,it directly change to yarn.

Week 10: Jan/9-13/2016

weekdays Activities
Monday I have seen the operation of shoal forest . it is operated by
mechanical system using by belt.
Tuesday In this day I have seen the operation of winding machine. It is
operated by getting yarn from ring frame.
Wednesday No work, because there is no power.
Thursday At this day ,I observed the working principle of sizing machine.
Friday I saw the operation of war pine machine. It wound yarn from
cone to beam roller.

Week 11: Jan/16-20/2016

weekdays Activities
Monday I have understand the parts and operation of bell-pluckier. They have three
motors .
Tuesday I have seen operation of six-step cleaner and two pitter cleaner and also ,I
observe the function of metal detector.
Wednesday At this day, I have understand two type of mixer such as : auto mixer A and
auto mixer B. I identify their working principle.
Thursday I saw, the machine that double the yarn. This machine is called doublers.
Friday At this day ,I have seen the machine that twist the yarn.

Week 12: Jan/23-27/2016

weekdays Activities
Monday I saw material in substation there are different materials found in substation
Tuesday I understand the power from Hawassa substation 15kv comes by three lines and
by underground cables it enters to oil circuit breaker, and then bus bar after to
transmission
Wednesday I saw from transformer (step down transformer) power is given to capacitor bank
and then to the needed places.
Thursday No work b/c of celebration of epiphany.
Friday At this day, I did correction of power factor is used to regulate active power Im
familiar with the material (device) rectifier .Rectifier is used to change ac to dc.
