Goals: Content Goal: To increase the rigor of learning in the classroom by planning and implementing
higher order learning tasks that require students to share thinking, ideas and concepts through
writing, research, and discussions.

Language Goal: To improve my reading, speaking, and listening skills in Mandarin to help improve
the communication and usage of vocabulary with students.

Domain Goal: To move to a distinguised level in the category of 4e- Growing and developing
professionally.

Measureable 1. I will enroll in an online ESOL course and complete by May 2018.
Objective: 2. I will plan at least three learning tasks each week that require higher order thinking (create,
evaluate, analyze) and student discourse.
3. I will track and measure student growth in their analytical writing skills in my AP United States
History Class in the beginning, middle, and end of the semester.
4. I will coordinate a school wide research based competition for all Grade 11 students in February
2018.
5. I will register for HSK II exam and pass by May 2018.

Action Plan: Administer first APUSH DBQ exam which will serve as BOY data (September 2017)
Provide students with feedback on their writing by having 1 on 1 conferences (monthly)
Teach the fundamentals of research including (citations, plagiarism, and formatting)
(September-December).
Apply to Georgia State online ESOL program (October 2017)
Introduce 8 Week Writing workshop and strategies to APUSH class (October-January 2018)
Create learning tasks that require students to create, evaluate or analyze. Research class
will participate in National History Day Project (February 2018) and (March 2018)
Continue online Mandarin lessons to improve communication with students (September-May
2018)
Register for HSK II examination (February 2018)
