Subject: Annual Mean Wages in May 2016 in the Industries with the Highest Levels of Employment for
Lawyers

Background
I currently attend the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and major in Criminal Justice. Graduating
with a degree in Criminal Justice will allow me to do many different things in the criminal field. Even
though I am interested in becoming a lawyer, I also want to know the wages of the industries with the
highest levels of employment for lawyers. Figure 1 shows the annual mean wages in May 2016 in the
industries with the highest levels of employment for lawyers.

Figure 1 shows the annual wages in May 2016 in the industries with the highest levels of employment for lawyers:

Management of Companies and Enterprises annual mean wages were $179,640


Federal Executive Branch (OES Designation) annual mean wages were $135,840
State Government (OES Designation) annual mean wages were $93,320
Local Government (OES Designation) annual mean wages were $100,940
Legal Services annual mean wages were $145,540.

This figure shows that the annual wages in the industry with the Highest Level of Employment for Lawyers is
management of companies and enterprises.
