Review concepts:
- The colour equations
- From the book what happens when we mix white and black with colours?
This lesson was very hands on and interactive! It worked well in centers. I needed
to specify that the colour brushes cannot be mixed because it changes desired
Reflection
colour. I used coloured paper (red, yellow and blue) to designate where the
coloured paint brushes go. It was also very effective to write the colour equations
on the portable whiteboard. The book Mix it Up was very fun and interactive
but it can lead to students being very silly, so classroom management is very
essential during reading the book. This book can also be used to reference for
when students are learning about mixing primary colours with white and black.
The paper was very thin and got stuck together, so thicker paper could be used or
one page at a time, so it could dry. The paint didnt mix as well as I had planned
but we just used a paint brush to mix in the colours.
