Cultivate Chandrasur- Make enormous profit
Chandrasur cultivation is possible with lesser input, lesser technical support, and lesser knowl
cultivation and earns enough profit. Its botanical name is Lepidium Sativum. The other names are
Aaria, Halim, Aalia etc.

Chandrasur-a emerging medicinal crop

Chandrasur is a newly emerging medicinal crop.

It is commonly known as garden cress, water cress.It is botanically known as Lepidium


sativum.Belong to family cruciferae.

It is mainly cultivated in Madhya Pradesh,Utter Pradesh,Rajasthan,Gujrat,and


Maharasthara in area of about 5000 hac.

Economic part-seeds,leaves,roots

Uses-seeds are used to increase milk content in female.They are used to promote growth
in children.In treatment of asthma,bleeding piles.

Roots are used in secondary syphillis and tenesmus.

Soil-all type of soil

Climate-it can be grown throughout year.But winter season crop yield more.

Chandrasur

Dear Mr Gupta

We have grown Chandrasur In Tikamgarh district of Madhya Pradesh. though it gave a


relatively good yield but as per its medicinal value we are not getting good rates. Can you
suggest where we can get minimum rates so that we can make it an economically viable
crop.
