ARTIST STATEMENT
Stemming from a foundation in print and illustration, my practice interweaves
narrative through multiple mediums. Playing with industrial heritage,
combining the handmade with contemporary technology, I hope to use
uncanny collaborations to creative engaging interactions. I investigate
narrative, characters and imaginary worlds. I work in response to site and
everyday experiences. I am inspired by the potential of public art, and
community participation, seeking settings outside of the traditional gallery.

Digital Residency - Various Locations across Poland

Travelling across Poland, with a suitcase-exposure unit.

I collected stories of migration, through pre-silver forms of
photography and analogue tape recording,
The final work resulted in a digital scroll and an artists book.

WE CAN MAKE
2017
January - September 2017
Artist Residency
Knowle West Media Center,,Bristol

For 7 months I became resident within Knowle,

a deprived area of Bristol.

During this time I worked with residents, creating

large Cyanotype prints out of objects from home.
I built an exposure unit on wheels, which I
took to residents and created work out on the street
as a form of creative engagement.

The project continued in August, when I was

commissioned to collaborate further
with the community in creating work for the
interior of a mirco-home. This was the first of its kind
a working prototype into affordable housing,

The work relied on pure integration into what was

otherwise a very isolated community.
I continue to work with the Media Centre
on various projects.

Bristol Set in Print
2016

Research and community outreach project, with variable outputs

Celebrating the heritage of industrial Print in Bristol, Bristol Set in Print explored how the trade has shaped our
city and acknowledged all those involved.
The project documented this industry; connecting with forgotten craftsmen to map historical forms of printing
alongside its current practitioners who are pushing new boundaries.
Through a series of demonstrations, skill-share workshops, a documentary and multiple public events it passed
on the trade of our heritage and promoted further education in this important area of history.

Interactive Installation

Worked as lead artist with the

creative technology group
The Rusty Squid on this
interactive arts piece. The Moth
was introduced as an integration
of physical art with
digital interactive components.

As artistic lead on this project, I

was responsible for the artistic
direction of the project, its
concept and the visual
componenets. I worked with a
team of engineers and designers.

Campanology
2015

Interactive Installation
Producer and Artist

Inspired by bell ringing,

Campanology was a
collaboration between five
artists from a multitude of
disciplines. It incorporates a wide
range of practices, from fine art
printmaking, traditional casting
and contemporary design.

Inspired by a recent trip to

prague, the moving cuckoo
clocks.

This installation interacted with

the local surroundings, the
church of St Mary Redcliffe. It
would come to life and start
moving in conjunction with the
bell ringing.
