This document discusses teaching students the reading skill of visualization. It introduces visualization as using words to create pictures in one's mind. The teacher models visualization by thinking out loud while reading a poem describing a green giant. Students then practice visualization by underlining adjectives in the poem and discussing what they picture the giant looking like. The lesson teaches students to use visualization to make reading more engaging and to apply this skill when reading independently.
