This article discusses the malnutrition and weight loss associated with patients with

pancreatic cancer. The study this article is written about was developed to explore the

experiences of diet, food consumption, and digestion habits in these patients. This study was

conducted using semi-structured interviews of selected patients chosen by the National Health

Service of North England. Commented [DJ1]: What were the main points made in
the source?
This article will help e in the development of a diet plan to follow to ensure positive

attitude and personal growth. The experiences of others through their journeys will help me

better understand what I am getting into and how it is they were able to get through it

Cancer. Pancreatology, vol. 4, no. 6, 16 Nov. 2004, pp. 567586. ProQuest Medical

Library [ProQuest], doi:10.1159/000082182.

The article written by Gukovskaya and Pandol discuss the regulation of apoptosis and Commented [DJ2]: discusses

necrosis, the two main death pathways of cells. The regulation of apoptosis and necrosis in

patients diagnosed with pancreatitis or pancreatic cancer can be vital to the mortality of the

patient during operations. This article gives way to many therapeutic strategies to help improve

the outcome of patients with pancreatitis, as well as breaking up cancer cells to give way for the

body to react properly to treatments for pancreatic cancer.

I am using this article to better my understanding of the pancreas and what all is taken

into account while developing treatments for malignant and malicious cells creating disease. I

want to understand what scientific steps are being used to develop the treatments that I am going

through.

This article was written by Anna Gukovskaya, professor at the Division of Digestive

Disease, Department of Medicine, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Gukovskaya

studies signaling pathways in the pancreas in regards to pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. She

received her M.S. at Saratov University, Ph.D. at Moscow University, and Doct. Sci. at the

Institute of Cytology, USSR Academy of Sciences.

Hayat, M. A. Stem Cells and Cancer Stem Cells. Vol. 7, Springer, 2012.

This book explores the research around the science of stem cells. Hayat discusses what

stem cells are and how they are important for living organisms. He also dives into different

treatments, such as conventional chemotherapy and radiotherapy to stop the growth of these

cells. Hayat covers the different types of stem cells, including stem cells known for potential

therapeutic uses.

This book will help me to understand what is currently going on in my body to assist my

self awareness. With the knowledge gathered from this book, I am hoping to have a better

understanding of what treatments will be more effective for my case and what is happening

during these treatments.

This book is written by Dr. Hayat, Distinguished Professor of the Department of

Biological Studies at Kean University. Dr. Hayat received his Ph.D. in Biology at Indiana

University. He has published chapters in 54 books and written 10 books, published by seven

major publishers.

Holford, Patrick, and Liz Efiong. Say No to Cancer: the Drug-Free Guide to Preventing and

Helping Fight Cancer. Piatkus, 2010.

This book was written in regards to the diet and physical exercise relating to those who

develop cancer. This book discusses the fact that 39% of cancer can be prevented by a healthy

diet and lifestyle. It is implemented many times in this book that with the right nutritional

support, you can really say no to cancer.

I plan to use this book as a guide to building a healthier diet and exercise routine to fight

cancer and prevent reoccurrence. This book will help me to develop a day by day approach to

living my life to better my chances of no longer having cancer.

and Hepatology, vol. 29, no. 9, 25 Aug. 2014, pp. 17441749., doi:10.1111/jgh.12602.

This article is based on the research of 15 scientists all studying the differing factors of

CMSs and UMSs for malignant biliary obstruction. CMS stands for Covered Metallic Stents and

UMS stands for Uncovered Metallic Stents. The study is formed around a retrospective analysis

regarding the stent migration as well as the mechanical properties of CMSs.

I am using this article to better understand what is happening in my body in a scientific

and medical level. This will help me to understand more of what I am being told to do with my

diet and lifestyle from my doctors, sports physicians, nutritionists, and neurologists. Commented [DJ3]: I see you did not get finished proving
credibility.
Commented [DJ4]: Font change. Stay with the same font
