CHAPTER IV

MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

Organizations come in a variety of sizes and they serve a wide range of


functions. Accordingly, all organizations try to reach their common goals. Management
is the act of bringing certain people together and assisting them to achieve a desired
aim by utilizing available resources. Hence, management is one of the critical aspects in
a business because it is responsible for its success and failure.
This aspect discusses the overall implementation plan of the organization and
management. It includes the vision, mission, tagline, capitalization and financing plans,
organizational structure, company policies and procedures and the manpower
requirements. Also, it implies a clear identification of duties, responsibilities, authority
and labor qualifications of the individuals who will make up the organization. The
purpose of the management aspect of a feasibility study is to ensure that the
coordinated plans of action together with required resources are utilized to achieve
successful realization of the study.

Nature and Type of Business

Vision

To be recognized as the finest Driving School in the Philippines by providing exemplary


services, catering to the needs of all types of driving learners and to remain at the
forefront of road safety awareness.

Mission

To provide driving students with a solid foundation of drivers education courses to


enhance road safety through providing driving training service that complies with the
highest applicable standards and best practices.

Core Values

Quality Training. MDS aims to deliver quality in training standards and methodology
both in the lecture and in the actual practice.
Lead Road Safety. MDS helps in enabling road safety by creating safer and skilled
drivers. It is the goal of Maneho Driving School to have graduates of the implemented
programs with the safest driving records of any other competitor in the Philippines and
to exploit that reputation to create greater market share.

Customer-Centric. MDS understands every customer needs better and deliver them
friendly and reliable services with the consideration of the capabilities of such.

Tagline

Have the drive to drive. Cars may not be the most environmentally friendly means of
transport, but getting a drivers license has many advantages. Having the drive to drive
is a life-long skill that anyone never forgets. Remember that being a new driver opens
the door of freedom and independence, but always with a responsibility. Thus, driving a
car should not be just a plain driving, but a careful one, so heres MDS to plant passion
for every driving learner, reminding and teaching them the responsibilities of getting
behind the wheels. MDS helps to create safety-driven drivers, for such are not born, but
made. Reason is rules are to be learned, not assumed. Hence, MDS will build the
confidence and safety to drive of everyone aspiring to.

Capitalization and Financing Plan

Table 1 shows the cash contributions and percentage of ownership of the


partners. The capital of project will be coming solely from the investment of the partners.

Company Policies and Procedures

The business will operate six (6) days in a week, from Tuesday to Sunday for 8
hours a day starting 9:00 am in the morning up to 6:00 in the evening. Monday will be a
day-off for the entity because its the busiest day of an individual so he/she is expected
not to able to come on Mondays.

Presented in the next figure is the job title, number of hours work and monthly salaries.

*In addition to the monthly salary of each employee, MDS will also pay SSS premiums,
Pag-ibig and PhilHealth contributions.

**Salary will be included in computing the distributable share of partners in the net
income.

Payment Policy

1. Students are required to pay P1000 upon submission of the Enrolment or Application
Form. The balance of the fee is to be collected the first time they will attend a
session.
2. If a student starts the class and fails to complete the program, payment is still
required to meet the payment agreement.

Classroom and Hands-on Phases Policy


1. Students are expected to attend one hour of classroom sessions and fourteen hours
of hands-on sessions. If sessions are missed, student will have to retake the classes.
Schedules of session depend on the availability of the students.
2. The driving instructors are on on-call basis and they own the part of adjusting their
schedule to anchor with the schedule proposed by the students of their respective
sessions.
3. Course completion certificates will be mailed to completing students after the final
payment and all class session finished and upon completion of the driving phase.
Processing time can be up to 7 days. To ensure receiving Certificate, a correct and
readable address is required.
4. Upon completion of sessions, the front desk officer will assist the students in
processing their license applications through referrals to the Land Transportation
Office.

MANPOWER REQUIREMENTS
To have an effective and efficient operation of the business, it is important to
know and understand its manpower requirements. Having knowledge of such helps in
assigning jobs by putting right number of people, right kind of people at the right place,
right time, doing the right things for which they are suited for the achievement of goals
of the organization.

MANAGING PARTNER

Job Description

A. Having responsibility for day-to-day management of the business affairs of the


entity.
B. Giving guidance and direction, determining accountability and monitoring the
work of the Director of Finance and Administration and other employees of the
firm.
C. Creates a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, cooperation and
collaboration between and among other employees.
D. Implements the policies, systems, and procedures for them.
E. Must do the bookkeeping tasks.
F. With excellent leadership skills, management experience and the ability to
motivate employees.
G. Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of
accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
H. Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
I. Maintains historical records by filing documents.

Job Qualification
A. Must be at least a graduate of BS in Accountancy.
B. Must have an ability to work quickly and accurately.
C. Must possess good concentration.
D. Must know how to manage time and ability to meet deadlines.
E. Must have good computer skills (especially with databases and financial
software).
F. Must be honest, discreet and trustworthy.
G. With excellent leadership skills, management experience and the ability to
motivate employees.
H. Must be results oriented and creative in addition to having strong business-
development skills and the ability to interact with clients and staff.

Industrial Partner

Job Description

A. Communicating, both internally and externally, the firm's determination to


maintain the highest possible professional standards.
B. Responsible for promotional activities of the Driving School through different
modes of advertising enumerated in the Marketing Aspect.

Job Qualifications

A. Must be a graduate of any business/marketing-related degree course.


B. Must be results oriented and creative in addition to having strong business-
development skills
C. Must have good computer skill.
D. Must have a good communication skill.

FRONT DESK OFFICER

Job Description

A. Answers questions of clients and addresses complaints.


B. Answers all incoming calls and redirects them for keep messages.
C. Receives letters, packages, etc. and distribute them.
D. Keep updated records and files like schedules and attendance of customers.
E. Takes up other duties as assigned (Maintenance of the office.)

Job Qualifications
A. Proven experience as front desk representative, agent or relevant position.
B. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications especially Word and Excel.
C. Strong communication and people skills.
D. Customer service orientation.
E. Must be at least high school graduate.

DRIVING INSTRUCTOR

Job Description

A. Responsible for teaching students the rules of the road and the safe way to
handle an automobile.
B. First present lessons in the classroom to teach students about driving laws and
driver courtesy.
C. Discuss how a car operates, how to perform safety checks and what to do in
case of an emergency.
D. Accompany students as they apply the knowledge taught behind the wheels of a
vehicle.
E. Work one-on-one with students or in a small group setting.

Job Qualification

A. Must be a college graduate of any bachelors degree.


B. Must be at least 21 years old.
C. Must be a holder of NCII particularly on driving course.
D. Must be duly accredited by the LTO.
E. Must pass a criminal background check, have a drivers license and possess a
clean driving record.
F. Must be able to communicate well with students.
G. Must have the capability to work with individuals with a wide range of skills.
H. Must have a pleasing personality especially the patience, because not every
student will grasp the objective of a lesson the first time lessons are presented.
