EXERCISE 1

Dependent Stop/Start Conditional Logic Controller


Objectives:

1. To understand the connection Dependent Stop/Start Conditional Logic


Controller.
2. To analyze how this Logic Controller work.
Conditions:
1. When PB1 is pressed, Solenoid Valve 1 will move forward. Use PB6 as
Stop.
2. PB2 as start and PB7 as stop; when PB2 is pressed, RY2 and RY3 will lit.
3. PB3 as start and PB9 as stop. When PB3 is pressed, both Temperature
Indicators and Fan2 will operate.
4. Using PB8 as start and PB9 again as stop, both Process Counter and
Fan1 will work.
5. Using PB4 as start and PB10 as stop, Temperature Indicator 2 and
Process Counter will work. Note that this set of control is still connected to
the previous ladder.
6. PB5 as start and using the same push button as condition 5 as stop when
PB5 is pressed, the buzzer will operate.
7. Starting from condition 3, use PB9 as stop.

EXERCISE 2

CONDITIONAL START/STOP

Objectives:

1. To construct a ladder diagram of a conditional start/stop connection.


2. To familiarized how a conditional start/stop works.
Conditions:

1. When PB1 on the operation panel is pressed, RY1 will lit.


2. Even when PB2 is pressed, RY2 will not lit unless RY1 is energized.
3. RY3 which is controlled by PB7 will only lit if RY1 and RY2 is working.
4. RY4 and RY5 which is operated by PB3 and PB8 respectively, has an
interlock connection. These relays turned off using PB8 and PB3
respectively.
5. RY6 and RY7 operated by PB4 and PB10 also has an interlock
connection. These relays will turn off when PB9 is pressed.
Note: Note that RY4, RY5,RY6 and RY7 will not work unless RY3 is lit.

EXPERIMENT 3

CONDITIONAL INTERLOCKING CONTROL

Objectives:

1. To understand how an interlocking control affects the system.

2. To analyze the action of an interlocking control to a given condition.

Condition:

1. When PB1 is pressed, RY1, Contactor 1 (CR1) and Solenoid Valve 1


(SV1) will be energized.

2. When PB2 and PB3 is pressed, RY2, Contactor 2 (CR2) and Solenoid
Valve 2 (SV2) and RY5 and Solenoid Valve 3 (SV3) will operate, respectively.

3. Using PB7 as a stop button, create a ladder diagram that consists of the
following;

PB4 for RY6 and Solenoid Valve 6 (SV6)

PB8 for RY7 and Solenoid Valve 7 (SV7)

PB5 for RY8 and Temperature Indicator 1 and RY9 and Temperature
Indicator 2

PB9 for RY101 and Fan 1 and Ry102 and Fan 2

PB10 for Ry10 and Process Control, RY103 and Ready Indicator, and
RY104 and Alarm.

*Note: RY7 and RY6 has an interlock circuit connection.

4. All the operation can be stop using PB6.

EXPERIMENT NO 4

LEVEL DETECTION
Objectives:
1. To analyze the given conditions of Level Detection.
2. To understand the functions of each components of Level Detection.
Conditions:
1. When FS1 is triggered, Solenoid Valve 1 and 2 and the System Ready will
operate.
2. When FS2 is triggered, the alarm will work and the timer will start
counting.
3. After a specific set time, the buzzer will turn on.
4. While the buzzer is working, the solenoid valve 3 and 4 retracts. Solenoid
Valve 6 will move forward.
5. The operation will be interrupted using PB6.

EXPERIMENT NO. 5
LEVEL ALTERATION CONTROL
Objectives:
1. To construct a ladder diagram of Level Alteration Control.
2. To understand and analyze the given conditions of Level Alteration
Control.
Conditions:
1. When PB1 is pressed, Solenoid Valve 1,2 and 5 will move forward.
2. If Solenoid Valve 5 moves forward, FS1 will be triggered causing
Solenoid Valve to move forward.
3. When FS2 is triggered, Solenoid Valve 5 will also move forward. Note
that SV5 and SV4 has an interlock connection which denotes that
when the other forwards, the other retracts and vice versa.
4. The whole operation can be interrupted when PB6 is pressed.

EXPERIMENT NO. 6
DUAL LEVEL STATION CONTROL
Objectives:
1. To gain further information on how Dual Level Station Level work.
2. To be familiarized about Dual Level Station Level.
Conditions:
1. If either of the three, FS1, FS2 and PB1 is triggered, System Ready will
operate.
2. When RY103 is energized, both temperature indicators will work.
3. When RY8 is lit, SV1, SV2 and SV3 will forward.
4. If RY2 is lit, SV4 will work.
5. These set up of operation can be turned off when PB6 and PB7 are
pressed together.

EXPERIMENT NO. 7
WATER LEVEL CONTROL
Objectives:
1. To understand the concept of water level control.
2. To notice and learn how a water level control work in actual.
Conditions:
1. Using Water Pump as Start and PB6 as Stop. The System Ready will
work when the water pump is working.
2. If RY103 is lit, FS1 will be triggered, causing RY8 and RY101 to work.
Note that RY101 isnt held by latch.
3. FS2 will be triggered causing the Temperature Indicator 1 and Fan 2 to
work. Fan 2 isnt held by latch.
4. The buzzer will work at the start of the operation. It will only stop if the
water pump is turned on.
5. The operation will be turned off if PB6 is pressed.

EXPERIMENT NO.8
TEMPERATURE CONTROL LADDER

Objectives:

1. To understand the concept of a temperature control.

2. To gain knowledge on how temperature controls a given condition.

Conditions:

1. When PB1 and PB2 is pressed, Temperature Indicator 1 and Fan 1, and,
Temperature Indicator 2 and Fan 2 will operate respectively. These relays will
de-energize when PB6 is pressed.

2. Process Counter will operate when PB3 is pressed. Using PB7, these
relays will stop working.

3. When Temp. Indicator 1 and 2 are working, Fan1 and Fan2 will operate,
respectively.

4. All operations will stop using PB6.

EXPERIMENT NO. 9
CIRCUMSTANTIAL TEMPERATURE CONTROL
Objectives:
1. To create a wiring connection of circumstantial temperature control.
2. To know how a circumstantial temperature control, works.
Conditions:
1. When PB1 is pressed, RY103 will be energized, causing the system ready
also energized.
2. If Flow Switch 1 (FS1) is triggered, RY104 and RY8 will operate. This
indicates that the alarm and temperature indicator 1 will also operate.
3. If FS2 is triggered, RY9 and TR will operate. The Temperature Indicator 2
will work the moment RY9 is lit.
4. After a specific seconds set on the timer, RY105 must be energized.
Note: RY105 will only be energized if RY103 and RY104 are operating.
5. The operation will be turned off using PB6.

EXPERIMENT NO.10
TEMPERATURE JOG CONTROL
Objectives:
1. To be familiarized about Temperature Jog Control.
2. To analyze and understand how Temperature Jog Control work.
Conditions:
1. When PB1 and PB2 are pressed, Solenoid Valve 1 and Fan 1 and
Solenoid Valve 2 and Fan 2 will operate respectively.
2. When PB3 and PB4 are pressed, Solenoid Valve 3 and 5 will operate
respectively.
3. Last, when PB5 is pressed, solenoid valve 4 will move forward.
4. This ladder operation will be turned off using PB6.

EXPERIMENT NO 11
AIR PRESSURE CONTROL
Objectives:
1. To familiarize the components to be used in Air Pressure Control.
2. To construct a ladder diagram of Air Pressure Control.
Conditions:
1. When the air pump is working, Solenoid Valve 1 and 2 will operate.
2. Solenoid Valve 3 will operate as soon as SV1 and SV2 are working.
3. When RY5 (SV3) is operating, RY3 (SV4) will be triggered and is then
held by latch.
4. After RY3 retracts, RY4 and RY105 will be triggered. Solenoid Valve 5
and Buzzer will work.
5. The operation will be turned off using PB6.

EXPERIMENT NO 12
DEPENDENT PRESSURE CONTROL

Objectives:
1. To understand and analyze Dependent Pressure Control.
2. To learn how a Dependent Pressure Control work.
Conditions:
1. When PB1 and PB2 are pressed, Solenoid Valve 1 (forward) and
Solenoid Valve 2 (forward) will operate respectively.
2. When Solenoid Valve 2 moves forward, only then, RY5 will work. The
Solenoid Valve 3 (forward) will operate. It is controlled by PB3.
3. When Pb4 is pressed, Solenoid Valve 1, 2 and 5 will retract and the
Buzzer will work. This set of operation will be turned off using PB7.
4. If RY5 is energized, Solenoid Valve 6 will move forward. When PB4 is
pressed. Solenoid Valve 7 (forward) will be energized if PB5 is
pressed. Note that SV6 and SV7 have an interlock connection. These
operations will turn off when PB8 is pressed.

EXPERIMENT NO 13
PRESSURE IMMEDIATE REVERSAL

Objectives:
1. To have further knowledge about Pressure Immediate Reversal.
2. To understand how Pressure Immediate Reversal work.
Conditions:
1. When PB8 is pressed, Solenoid Valve 6 will forward. But when PB9 (NC)
is pressed, it will stop operating.
2. When PB9 is pressed, Solenoid Valve 7 will work. When PB8 (NC) is
pressed, it will be deenergized.
3. Using PB7 as stop another set of operation is as follows:
PB1 for SV1
RY1 (NO) for SV2
RY2 (NO) for SV4
4. All operation in the ladder diagram will be interrupted when PB6 is
pressed.

EXPERIMENT NO 14
PROCESS JOG CONTROL
Objectives:
1. To be familiarized about Process Jog Control.
2. To understand how Process Jog Control work.
Conditions:
1. Using PB1 and Pb2, SV1 and System Ready and Sv2 will operate,
respectively. Note that only RY1 and RY2 were held by a latch.
2. When Ry2 is lit, SV3, Temperature Indicator 1 and Fan 1 will operate.
3. Temperature Indicator 2, timer and Fan 2 will work if RY8 is energized.
4. Since RY102 or Fan 2 will remain energized, when the Timer starts
counting SV6 and SV5 will forward and when the timer stops counting the
solenoid valves 7 and 3 will retract and vise versa.Using PB6 the
operation will be interrupted.

EXPERIMENT NO 15
MANUAL PROCESS CONTROL
Objectives:
1. To analyze the ladder diagram of manual process control.
2. To know the function of each to be used in manual process control.
Conditions:
1. When PB1 and PB2 is pressed, and solenoid valve 2 will operate,
respectively.
2. FS1 can only be triggered, if and only RY2 is lit. Controlled by FS1 and
RY5, RY8 and RY101. Note that RY101 isnt held by latch.
3. When RY5 is lit, the buzzer will work and not until FS2 is triggered it will
not stop.
4. Controlled by FS2 are RY9, RY102 and Timer. Note that RY9 is the only
relay held by latch.
5. Since Fan 2 will remain energized, when timer 1 starts counting solenoid
valve 5 and 6 will move forward and when Timer 1 stops counting
Solenoid Valve 3 and 7 will move forward causing Solenoid Valve 5 and 6
to retract and vise versa.
6. All operations will stop when PB6 is pressed.

EXPERIMENT NO 16
Complete Process Logic
Objectives
To learn how to interpret such necessary situation.
To be familiar with the components and its actual wiring connection in this
experiment.
To thorough understand the logic of different process control devices.
To further appreciate the trainer by integrating it with HMI and PLC
trainers
Conditions:
1. When PB1 is pressed Main Pressure (Solenoid Valve 1) is on, and while it
is on and PB2 is pressed Supply Pressure (Solenoid Valve 2) and Solenoid
Valve 3 will be triggered.
2. As Solenoid Valve 3 is in contact, its either when PB3 is pressed Cylinder
1 will move forward and Cylinder 2 will retract or when PB8 is pressed Cylinder 1
will retract and Cylinder 2 will move forward. This condition will stop when PB7 is
pressed.
3. Equally when Solenoid Valve 3 is in contact while PB5 is pressed the
Temperature Indicators 1 and the ready indicator is on. Temperature 2 ,and Fans
1 and 2 will operate when PB9 is pressed.
4. The Buzzer and alarm indicator will only be triggered for a specific time
when PB10 is pressed.
