 Executive Summery
Safia Muhammadia Welfare Society was established in 2004.Founder of this charitable organization
is Mufti Qazi Hassan Raza. The purpose of Safia Muhammadia Welfare society is to focus on three
basic needs of the poor people of Haripur.

1. Health
2. Food
3. Education

For the first one Safia Muhammadia Welfare Society started the construction of SMT welfare
hospital where poor people of Haripur and connective area can avail the medical facility at very low
cost. Hospital running its operations at no profit and no loss basis. On demand of public Safia
Muhammadia has established the first fully equipped Thalassemia department in SMT Welfare
Hospital where Free Blood transfusion Facility is provided to thalassemia patients and awareness
campaigns about thalssemia also started through this department of SMT Welfare Hospital.

To accomplish the second objective Safia Muhammadia Welafare Society has started the Food
projects such as Qurbanni Project, Ramadan Food Project, Widows Sponsorship Program and
Prisoners Food Project.Thousands of people are the beneficiaries of these projects.

The third objective is to provide quality education to children. Safia Muhammadia Welfare Society
started the Education sponsorships program, Books and Uniform Project, Support a School Project,
Through These projects hundreds of students started their education and succeeding in journey of
life.

Safia Muhammadia Welfare Society is becoming a candle of hope for the Poor people of Haripur
volunteers joining our organization to take apart in this noble effort. Its Obvious that there are
Global financial crises so it effect the financial stability of Safia Muhammadia Welfare Society but
We will carry on our welfare activities and our aim is to achieve the Goal regardless of financial
problems.

Mission:

We have to serve humanity and motivate others to help needy people &
work for the welfare of humanity.
Aim & Objective:

1. To establish a welfare hospital to provide free medical facilities and

treatment to destitute and needy members of the society.

2. To established an Islamic university for modern & Islamic education.

3. To established an old house and orphan House

4. To assist the poor and needy students and also to facilitate them in

getting quality education.

5. Financial assistance for the Widows and Poor people.

6. To take all steps and measures to protect from contagious diseases.

7. To established a blood bank for the district and conjunctive areas.

8. To facilitate educational institute.

9. To aware the people about viral diseases so that they can prevent

themselves.

10. To provide legal aid to prisoners specially women and javelin.

Financial Management
It is Safia MuhammadiaWelfare Societys policy to maintain good accounting records
based on generally accepted accounting principles for non-profit organizations, subject
to different donor agency guidelines, as applicable. Within these principles, Safia
MuhammadiaWelfare Society adheres to generally accepted accounting principles to
ensure costs are reasonable, allowable, and allocable. As such, financial records are
maintained and reports are prepared on a cash basis, with the capability to prepare
reports on an accrual basis. Accurate accounting and financial reporting within Safia
Muhammadia Welfare Society are integral to providing the necessary information for
budgeting, planning, and management responsibilities. To achieve this, Safia
Muhammadia Welfare Society financial management and reporting systems are
constructed so that:
Each funding source is individually identified and individual expenses are coded in
a manner to ensure that the expense is charged to the correct funding source;
Costs are treated consistently with Safia Muhammadia Welfare Societys written
policies and procedures and are applied uniformly between federal and non-federal
funds;
All payments are based on fully supporting documentation;
All financial records are supported by source documentation;
only reasonable and necessary costs for the performance of an award are charged to
that award;
Reports can compare actual expenditures with planned expenditures.

 Only cash necessary to meet anticipated day-to-day expenditures plus a reasonable
cushion for emergencies shall be kept available.
A separate general ledger account is maintained for each bank account. A separate
bank account may be opened to meet the specific requirements of a donor or as
deemed necessary by Muhammadia Welfare Society.

Achievements
1. SMT WELFARE HOSPITAL

 Safia Muhammadia Welfare Society prime objectives are to provide sustained health
care services. As part of this initiative, Safia Muhammadia Welfare Society long-term
plan is to build a fully functional hospital along with subsequent maternity units.

In 2005, with the help of the kind donations Safia Muhammadia Welfare Society was
able to purchase the land required for this much needed hospital. It is based on an
area of 1.8 acres (81600 sft). It is also located near a main Khanpur road providing
easy access during and after construction. Safia Muhammadia Welfare Society
began the construction work on the building of a fully equipped hospital which shall
provide treatment for all the people, especially the poor who will be given free
medical treatment.

The hospitals main focus will be on the maternity infrastructure of the health
services. The construction of the 1st Block of the hospital was complete in summer
2009 and it specializes in emergency cases, Cataract Operations and OPD and has
rooms which include:

The hospital is fully furnished and Air-Conditioned.

The Hospital is located in Haripur city in the Northern West Frontier Province of
Pakistan. There are no hospitals for miles in this region of Pakistan and currently
there are no charities or organizations that are fully involved in the improvement and
development of the lives of these People Approximately 246,270 families (1.2
million) have been benefited from this project.

Further we need latest medical equipments and ambulances for diagnosis and
treatment of the patients also we need well learned hospital staff.

1.2 Running cost of the SMT Welfare Hospital

Running cost of SMT Welfare Hospital is Rs 600,000/-PKR approximately it includes salaries of

the medical & technical staff, Discount on medicines, free medicines, Discount in diagnostic
test, Administrative Expenses and utility bills .etc

We arrange funds for our expenses from the donors inside and outside the Pakistan.

1.3 Thalassemia Department

There are more than 1000 patients in Haripur (Northern West Frontier Pakistan) and its surrounding
areas, who are suffering from Thalassemia. A debilitating health condition with patients having an
average life expectancy of less than 20 years, and many others dying without diagnosis, Thalassemic
patients need URGENT CARE!! In this contention SMT Welfare Hospital opened a Thalassemia
Centre in March 2010, and since its establishment this organization is providing regular free blood
transfusions and medical services to the 93 registered patients, with an average of 150 patients being
treated each month. We aim to achieve quality-assured blood transfusions and provide a good

standard of medical care. This organization has commenced this journey with very few assets but
many hopes. Now in practical circumstances this organization is not only a ray of life for these poor
sufferers but also a vehicle for educating the affected families about this deadly disease through
printed material and individual counseling, hence allowing parents to provide better care for their
children. With limited resources and a constantly increasing number of patients, Safia Muhammadia
Welfare Society is experiencing some very critical problems in the continuation of provision of
services. In order to meet with the rising demands of quality assured blood and to facilitate these
patients with the provision of medicines, Safia Muhammadia Welfare Society has planned to launch
some vital campaigns like Sponsor a Child, Sponsor a Blood Bag. This campaign aims not only to
raise funds to compensate the rising expenses in the way of treatment of these innocent suffering
souls, but also at creating awareness among masses and to promote humanitarian values within the
civil and business community. By Sponsoring a Child, a Blood Bag, you can make a huge
difference in someones life: essentially, you will keep them ALIVE!! Destiny can inflict its worst
aspect anytime upon anyone. Here at SMT Welfare Hospital, we strive to lift the burden of many
suffering souls and replace it with the smile that seemed gone forever. Safia Muhammadia Welfare
Society strives to bring back that belief, the belief that life is of immense value. Your small
contribution in this regard has the power to change thousands of distressed lives, because; Sacrifice
& devotion cannot be measured in terms of Gross Magnitude. Blood Transfusion for 1 child costs
PKR 6000.00 and it is needed every 15-20 days.

2. Widows & Poor Sponsorship

It is very difficult for widows (or any other single mother) to financially support them if they
have children to look after. This problem is aggravated in countries which do not offer any
support to them. Safia Muhammadia Welfare Society Widow Sponsorships aim to ameliorate
their difficulties by financial aid to cover their basic needs. Costs vary between locations but are
typically between 2000/- PKR a month. Safia Muhammadia Welfare Society currently providing
50 registered Widows & poor people monthly sponsorship we aim to increase number of
sponsorship holders with the help of donations.

3. Education Sponsorship

An integral part of our development program is to promote self sufficiency and independence via
education and training. Safia Muhammadia Welfare Society believes for a community to be able
to become independent it requires good foundations; therefore, good academic education will
produce professionals. These professionals will become assets for tomorrow. In view of this Safia
Muhammadia Welfare Society has already started providing assistance to upgrade current
schools in the given areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhaw, by providing financial funding, books and
other educational material to the institutions. Safia Muhammadia Welfare Society currently
sponsor and support 31 schools, with a total of 3500 students, some resident whilst others just
attend school during normal school hours. Some schools require further staff to enable them to
teach Math, English and Science to GCSE equivalent. Furthermore we at Safia Muhammadia
Welfare Society understand that in order to move along with this ever changing society it is vital
to keep up with the information and technology.

4. Food Project
From 2006 Safia Muhammadia Welfare Society providing Food to the prisoners on Eid-ul-Adha
and on the holy month of Ramadan we provide thousands of family food packages so that they
can feel the blessing of this holy month. We aim to provide these registered & poor families for
the whole year if our financial position gets so strong.

remote area of Haripur where no modern facilities are
available .people living standard is very low, we are
struggling to make some contribution in the betterment
of their living style by providing quality education,
Health facilities and support their monthly expenses for
the sake of humanity.
