What kind of technology does the College of Business Administration have access to at UTEP?

How has the access to technology evolved?

How is access to technology improving business education?

How is technology changing the world?

Dhir, S. (2016). Technology Evolution and its Cyclical Relation with us. Journal of the

International Clinical Dental Research Organization, (2)

Technology and human life are always together and this can bring the positive and the

negative. Dhir states that in order to grow people need to change and in order to live

people have to grow. This leads to the importance of changing and adapting to new

technology evolving. Now days technology is indispensable because it used in everything

and for everything. A great challenge that humanity has is to observe future life and

adjust technology to it in a way that can make life easier. The negative aspect that this has

is reflected in employment loss. This is because as technology is evolving to improve

peoples lives, it takes the place of many employees. Change is inevitable therefore the

only solution is to adapt to the changes.

Gaytan, J. A. (2000). Multimedia Technology Integration and Instructional Practices in

a College of Business Administration 2000: University of Texas at el Paso.

Multimedia technology has always been and will continue to be included by teachers and

students in the practices of the college of business administration. Members of the college

of business administration are very positive about the implementation of technology in

their methods. In Gaytans research he found that there has not been a lot of changes in

campus technology within the teaching and learning process in the College of Business

Administration at The University of Texas at El Paso. For example, in the college of

Business Administration, liquid crystal display projectors, computers, large screen

televisions and video tapes are being used to show course material. These are traditional

ways of including technology in student learning and because students are becoming non-

traditional new technology practices should be implemented.

Kirs, P. (2012). Expert Opinion Interview with: Jack Vaughn, Technology Implementation

Manager (TIM), College of Business Administration, the University of Texas at el Paso.

Journal of Information Privacy & Security, 8(3), 68.

Jack Vaughn is the technology implementation manager (TIM) in the college of business

administration at the University of Texas at el Paso. Vaughn is responsible for the

security of information stored on computers, laptops and desktops from UTEP. In order

to back up data Vaughn and others in the department, have established a cloud backup

system. Another important duty that he has is to reach out to faculty and staff to ensure

that they are up to date on new viruses and security issues. Vaughn communicates that

because of the increase in faculty and staff using their own computer and smartphone,

wireless network usage has also increased. Therefore, malware QR has increased and

because of this the university has installed enterprise antivirus. The antivirus uses firewall

filters to maintain the college systems free of unwanted traffic.

McGovern, E. F., Luna-Nevarez, C., & Baruca, A. (2017). Utilizing Mobile Devices to Enrich

the Learning Style of Students. Journal of Education for Business, 92(2), 89-95.

As more technology devices are being used in education, business faculty has increased

multiple types of access to online applications and other technology to encourage

students to learn. New digital approaches will get the attention of students who are really

into technology. The authors explain how it is that technology implementations to

education will create more opportunities for an effective learning environment. Flipboard

and stitcher are two mobile applications that have engaged with student learning because

students actually learn and they really like them. Even tough students like both, students

enjoy flipboard more because it engages more with class work therefore learning is being

encouraged and information is being acknowledged.

Nadel, B. (2017). FORMING the FUTURE: Behind the Scenes of Effective Campus 3D-Printing

Operations. University Business, 20(6), 28-31.

3D printing projects can be fabricated in either universities or companies. 3D printing

consists in 3D projects made out of different materials, these include wax, porcelain,

metals, and plastics. According to Nadel having many printers in one place is important

for service, cost and student development. Many departments such as engineering,

material science and architecture have adopted 3D printing. Because multiple

departments are now into the usage of printers, campuses should strongly consider

fabricating a 3D lab. The University of Texas at El Paso locates a 3D lab called the WM

keck center for 3D innovations. The 3D printing results at UTEP makes unclear the line

between school and commerce. This is because UTEP has made business out of the

printing, and not because of the money but because it is an important pathway for

business students of the college. Specifically, to give students the experience to later

become innovators and entrepreneurs.

Oblinger, D. G., & Verville, A. (1999). Information Technology as a Change Agent.

Educom Review, 34(1), 46.

Technology is changing everything in humanity, the way they work and live. It is also

changing the behavior in people because the majority rely too much in it. Technology is a

very powerful change that has altered the world. An important step into technology was

and continues to be the automobile. The automobile dramatically changed peoples lives

in every aspect, from where to work and where to live. Technology is unstoppable, it has

allowed others to communicate trough a device by voice and text. Not only that but

technology is changing the structure of industry and business. Overall, technology has

created many opportunities to the world.

Savage, N. F., Gorman, M. E., & Street, A. (2013). Emerging Technologies: Socio-behavioral

life cycle approaches Singapore: Pan Stanford Pub., c2013.

Technology and innovation as well as devices and materials continue to advance in order

to improve the quality of life. To create potential impacts of technology in peoples lives it

is essential to consider all aspects such as social science, behavior and ethics. In the book

the authors address an important factor of developing technology that is suitable for the

people, and this is to follow the life cycle analyses. The life cycle analyses consist in

three parts which are; behavioral and social adaptations, emerging technological

alternatives, and material and energy flows. An example of technology improvement due

to social necessities is the use of Nano technology to filter water. This is how the life

cycle analyses will transform technology into a new level of improvements.
