HUBCITY LIVE!

- ETHIOPIA
USA FOR AFRICA
PARTNERSHIP
HubCity Live! - Ethiopia
USA For Africa
United Support of Artists for Africa was incorporated in 1985 and is recognized globally
for its 1985 ensemble recording of We Are The World and the Hands Across
America benefit event in 1986.

In 33 years, USA for Africa has raised over $100,000,000 to help end poverty in Africa
and America.

As conceived by Harry Belafonte, USA For Africa was meant to be an initiative by

African-Americans to support Africans in need, and the initial band of artists who signed
on was Black.

When rock artists like Bruce Springsteen got on board, it gave We Are The World broad
cultural and musical diversity.

Similar to USA For Africa, HubCity Live! Ethiopia (HCL Ethiopia) is an initiative
focused on Ethiopia, led by African-American women, with a diverse development team.
Also, HubCity Live! is a benefit corporation, obligated by law to impact communities in
a positive way while earning a profit.

COMMUNITY CAPACITY BUILDING CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT

The HCL Ethiopia and USA For Africa cooperation is focused on training and capacity
building. Talent is a countrys most precious resource.

The United Nations Development Programme Human Development Index reports that
Ethiopia has the fastest growing GDP in the world but ranks 170 out of 177 the poorest
countries on the Human Development. 50% of its population 74.7 million bears the
burden of poverty and 80% lives on bread line. 47% of males and 31% of females are
literate.

The Government of Ethiopia is not empowering their women and youth or maximizing
their talent.
The China-Africa relation goes far beyond minerals, natural resources, and land
acquisition. Urbanization, poor roads, hospitals, and dams have opened up other avenues
of opportunity for Chinese benefactors in the fields of infrastructure, and development.
Opportunities for training, skill development, job development and hiring of local
businesses are not being made available to the indigenous people. The Chinese are
sending many people out of China to start businesses and acquire jobs in Africa because
there are too many people in China.

1. HCL Ethiopia would like to form a partnership with USA For Africa to
collaborate on community capacity building aimed at strengthening the skills,
competencies and abilities of local African people and communities in developing
technologically advanced societies so they can overcome the causes of their
exclusion, poverty and suffering.
Capacity building and training shall be in the areas of:
Education & Training in the areas of Ubiquitous Computing, High-Tech
Real Estate Development and Nation Building
Empowering Women and Youth
Social Innovation, Art and Culture

2. The USA For Africa organization has 33 years of experience working in Ethiopia
and throughout all of Africa and qualifies as a high- level advisor for HubCity
Live! Ethiopia

3. USA For Africa has the capacity and knowledge to operate as the activist arm of
HCL Ethiopia.

In response to the controversial African land rush/grab issue, the HubCity Live!
Ethiopia and USA For Africa cooperation could serve as a prototype and gold standard
for how responsible and transparent private investment in Africa can impact its people,
government, and land positively and sustainably. This model relationship would serve to
promote HCL Ethiopia as a triple bottom-line opportunity and a win-win-win for all
interested parties.

The holistic rate of return on investments will be much higher as well as give security and
assurance to foreign investors.
