Vox. (2017, November 13). Why the rise of the robots wont mean the end of
work [Video File]. Retrieved from:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUmyygCMMGA
This video provides a counterargument to the problem to be discussed. It
briefly defines automation and the problems that most researchers predict
with the development of automated machines. This provides a means to
analyze the conflicting arguments and devise rebuttals.

CGP Grey. (2014, August 13). Humans Need Not Apply [Video File]. Retrieved
from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Pq-S557XQU
This video will provide the basis for the problem report. It delves into the
general problem to be discussed and provides effects that may arise from
the problem. The creator defines what automation is and the aspects of
life it might effect. He attempts to provide a comprehensive explanation so
that he can appeal to the greater audience and create further urgency.

New York Univ., NY. Inst. for Economic Analysis. (1984). The Impacts of
Automation on Employment, 1963-2000. Final Report. National Science
Foundation, Washington, DC.: Sponsor.
This research report provides statistical information for the effects of
automation in general financial sectors. Although some of the statistical
data provided does negatively affect the employment sectors, most data
refers to the benefits automation has in the general economy. Because
the report mentions the positive effects automation has on labor
conservation and total production output, this provides a logical argument
for the further implementation of automation in the future.

Research Working Paper No. 7775. Available at
SSRN: https://ssrn.com/abstract=2895482
This paper delves directly into the effects of automation in developing
countries or countries that are barely implementing automation into their
economies and lifestyles. Although the paper does provide arguments for
job creation in the development of automated machines, it does not
account for continued development and implementation of automated
machines in the economies and lifestyles of developing countries.

from Patent Texts (September 22, 2017). Available at

This paper provides information on the direction automation has taken and
perhaps will take by utilizing another medium of research to make these
assumptions: patent requests and grants. By analyzing previous and
currently filed patents, predictions can be deduced using their patterns
and tendencies. This paper may provide the best predictors for the future
of automated technologies in the US.

Robotics, and Algorithms (STARA): Employees perceptions of our future
workplace. Journal of Management & Organization, 1-19.
doi:10.1017/jmo.2016.55
This paper analyzes the effect of automation the workforce, specifically,
the domestic workplace. The researches who authored the paper
developed a system for measuring the predicted and perceived effects
automation has within the workplace. The paper also provides individual
employee opinions that can provide an outlook for the threat of automation
on their jobs and their response to it.

Frey, C., Osborne, M. (2015) Technology at Work: The Future of Innovation and
Employment. Retrieved from Citi Group and Oxford Martin website:
https://www.oxfordmartin.ox.ac.uk/downloads/reports/Citi_GPS_Technology_Wor
k.pdf.
This financial report provides a current view of automation within a
respected company and the shape of things to come within the company
and in outside areas. Because Citi Group is not necessarily a technology
company, this report provides a non-technological perspective on the
current state and future of automation. This report also provides an
analytical and statistical view of the threat automation has on the worlds
occupations. It also compares the production and employment aspects of
the current economic state with hypothetical future states.
