EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Handican is a plaaorm which helps dierently-abled people match their skills with the right job and the right company, leading to a brighter
future.

The report draws aXenZon to the fact that people with disabiliZes is 10% of all Thai populaZon. Thailand has 1.8 Million of people with
disabiliZes and 800,000 are at the working age. Only 30% of disabled people who are in working are get employed. The size of disabled people
market tends to extend year by year. Data from Oce of the Higher EducaZon Commission refers the number of undergraduate students with
disabiliZes has been increasing. In addiZon, people with disabiliZes who graduated from high school or lower also have the same intenZon. They
want a job.

Our client is the company or organizaZon who interested in hiring disabled people. There are 13,242 companies in Thailand in 2016 and it tends
to increase year by area because of CSR trend.

In Handican's operaZons, our co-partners is True Co. who is involved in co-invesZng. In addiZon, we have assembled a board of advisors to
provide management experZse. The advisors is Massimo Ingegno (InternaZonal Expert and Associate Director for InternaZonal RelaZons at
DBTM, Faculty of Architecture and Planning, Thammasat University. )

Our service
Handican provides the list of handicap (user) who have abiliZes and willingness to work also provides the list of company (customer) who want
and ready to hire people with disabiliZes in plaaorm which is the intermediary for both sides to match each other.

- There will be recommendaZon jobs from the company which has the prole matched with interest of the user.
- Guarantee quality of work with the most suitable for capacity.
- Provide the travel and transportaZon informaZon

- Hiring people who have ability with high producZvity
- Gelng counseled before hiring people, in oder to understand handicap and to make employment more eecZve and sustainable.

The failure of hiring people with disabiliEes are caused by these 3 topics that
The exisZng hiring process isnt created for hiring people we have specied which are:
with disabiliZes. There are some missing steps that the
most of employers disregard and that lead to make the
employee unhappy and suddenly quick the job for normal
people those processes might work will but for this
dierently-ability people they might not work.
There are exisZng soluZons which try to help disabled
people to get a job.
1. Website to nd a job for persons with disabiliZes.
2. Training program for improve disabled people skill and
prepare to be ready to have job.

The website for nd a job for handicap is not usable also


there is no 2 steps which are Before hiring and Follow up
; Prepare before hiring is a step which the company has to
be ready to hire the handicap that is to say the employee
must understand the handicap with some condiZons. And
Follow up is a step to follow the performance of handicaps
work and see if they can get along in the company society
or environment also can work in suitable role.

Value proposiEon To start with a group of disabled people with


abiliZes who have already been trained in dierent
specic types of ability. From the above cycle you can see
that there is no point for disabled people to get
themselves training, if there are no channel to get to the
company to support and hiring them aver training.
Handican will ll the gap by being a medium plaaorm for
disabled people to connect to the potenZal companies as
well as for the companies to nd potenZal disabled
employee. Once the rst group of people with disabiliZes
are already hired.The successful hiring will leads to a
beXer life.Once their life become more successful. At this
point, their stories will turn to be the inspiraZon for other
disabled people for gelng ready to get a job, gelng
hired, and having a beXer life. So that this can be claimed
as a cycle which is sustainable and also able to liv all the
chain of associaZon of people with disabiliZes. Moreover,
this issue also boost up an equality between dierences.

1.Invite All Your Friends Now - This funcZon is important at the discovering phase because It can gather other disabled people to
join plaaorm. Disabled people can invite friends to join from Facebook and Its gonna be a good social inuence because disabled
people always trust others disabled people

2.Resume - Disabled people can adjust their resume any format they want and they can design their on and upload just a minute to
our website so theyll feel ownership & possession of that. Also prole picture that showing to company.

3.Probability to get work (%) - In matching process, Disabled people will be recommended the companies that might be suited to
them and have high chance to get along well with those. We matched by the resume and company & jobs descripZons. We have
noZcaZon to remind them to look at those without avoidance

4.Sharing experiences - This features can let disabled people share their experiences aver using Handican or aver worked at
company they love. This can empower trust and condence to other disabled people and new community will happen.

5.Progress bar - Every Zme user have to put the informaZons theres progression to help and encourage them to nish the whole
process. Even if matching process needs it. Accomplishment of user is very important on onboarding phase

THE MARKET SIZE
From doing research, we found that the total number of disabled people in Thailand are 1,802,375 people from the overall populaZon
of 65,931,550 people.

There are a total of 802,058 disabled people who are in the working age, 227,924 of disabled people who are able to work and are
employed equal to 28.42%, 118,144 of disabled people who are unable to work equal to 14.73%, and 455,990 of disabled people who can
work but are unemployed that is 56.85% of the total number of disabled people who are able to work more than the disabled people who
got hired for jobs a lot. Therefore, users of the plaaorm are disabled people who do not have a job. Our plaaorm will match disabled people
who are able to work and are ready to work with companies in Thailand with a total number of 1,372,342 registered companies. This is
more than disabled people who are in the working age and can double the work more. So if we can match disabled people who are able to
work and are ready to work with companies in Thailand. It can reduce the unemployment and disabled people with no jobs.

From the interview we found out that the disabled people who can work but they are sZll unemployed wanted to work but there are
no channels to nd a job or no skills in some work for them. Our plaaorm will train and educate disabled people before they match with
the companies that accept them to work and also educate disabled people to the company to reduce problems aver work of disabled
people like they cant work with normal people or whether the disabled people dont understand the work.

The plaaorm will conZnue to evolve in quality together with valuing the plaaorm to create value for the disabled people by training disabled
people who can work with skills and knowledge ready for work. Pull the skills and strengths of people with disabiliZes to make a prominent
point for disabled people and to create value of themselves. And to also provide the disabled people with the ability to work with
companies that are on our plaaorm. Our plaaorm will proceed gradually, with the rst phase of 50 people to 10 companies that are ready to
accept the disabled people and have good qualicaZons to get people with disabiliZes to work. To test the operaZon of the plaaorm and
the matching of the disabled with the company. When there is a problem during the operaZon we will solve the problem at each point
eecZvely so that our plaaorm is complete and has no operaZonal problems. We are conZnuously expanding the number of disabled
people and company that accept disabled people to be a plaaorm that they can nd jobs with quality and to address unemployment and
disability issues. It also creates value for the disabled people and solves social problems of equality. Handican" a plaaorm that emphasize
quality more than quanZty.

This department belongs to the ministry of social development and human security (MSDHS) which supports people and society
to be beXer and sustainable. This department is including Fund for empowerment of people with disabiliZes (SecZon 34). Funds
uses are 1)loan for disabled people. 2)Fund the project that support and improve disabled peoples life. 3)Support employment of
disabled people.

What can Handican give them :


1)Data of skilled-people with disabiliZes and company.
2)We can support the regulaZon secZon 33 34 35 which are all related to this department.

What can they give us :


1)PotenZal data of disabled people.
2)Lists of project that they funded and training program. Those may become our partners.
3)They might fund for our project.

2.Training Program (FoundaEons,UniversiEes and NGOs)


What they do :
1) FoundaZon usually set up workshop and acZviZes for disabled people to build community and improve their skills.
2) UniversiZes are mostly the place for disabled people to intern and work (Mostly receive the disabled people from other companies to do intern
secZon 35).
3) NGOs companies like PWD They improve disabled peoples skills and also work collaborate with large company that hire outsource disabled
worker and they also do internship for other companies secZon 35 as well and also be a channel of matching disabled people to the company (oine).

Why they do : 1) FoundaZons get funded by DEP.


2)University get money from company to run internship program secZon 35. and UniversiZes are large organisaZons contain thoundsand employee
they have to follow regulaZon secZon 33 34 35 as well.
3)Training program companies get funded by DEP to operate and They probably get commission if they send disabled people to the company.

What can Handican give them :


1)Be channel for them to nd disabled people who want to join those workshops and improve the skills.
2)Be middle-man for universiZes and companies that want to follow secZon 35 (internship).
3)Be middle-man for internship.Provide them a list of disabled people who dont have skills or want improve specic skills (So they dont have to nd
those disabled people well nd for them and they get funded from DEP).

2)UniversiZes can provide a list of disabled people in their organizaZon and list of company theyre working with.
3)Training program companies can provide a list of disabled people in their.
Training program and collaborate design jobs and provide specic new skills for disabled people with us.

We have learned the exisZng soluZon to be our case study to adapt to our project ;
First, the exisZng websites were too complicated and its not support for disabled people
-Not truly inclusive design
-Not create with the right altude
-Understand that abiliZes is stronger than disabiliZes
Second, the disabled people who already take the training course have got the knowledge. So, these people having more opportunity to get job.

We went to many foundaZons to interview disabled people to know the insight of every type of disabled people what is their need their problem and their thought and bring our
creaZve ideas to nd the soluZon or innovaZons that respond to users and situaZons. Such as Lighthouse(blind), centre of persons with disability occupaZonal promoZon(physical).
