exercise IV)

Objectives:
1. to select and use the correct vocabulary in a gapped text so that it has a logical meaning
2. to form a new word with a different grammatical value from a given word.
3. to make the distinction between present perfect and past tense and to use them correctly
4. to be able to write an informal letter of giving news
Skills: writing
Class organisation: individual
Assumption: Ss are familiar with the vocabulary from the test. The students should be able to
use the grammar structures required by the exercises.

Procedure
1. Giving explanations (2 minutes)
The teacher hands out the test papers and gives students some guidelines, making sure they
understand what they are supposed to do at every exercise.
2. The students solve the exercises. (48 minutes)
