INTRODUCTION:-
ART
ART&CRAFT VILLAGE
The concern of the village and its environment works as the backbone of this
complex.it not only provides an improved working environment to artists but will also
contributes to the urban level functions that a living city requires.
SCOPE
AIM
To create an environment for the promotion of the traditional art and craft which are
fast dying due to onslaught of the industrial products.
OBJECTIVES
To enhance the quantity and quality of art and craft works and to promote them at the urban
scale.
To establish a centre to promote the traditional performing and visual arts and also
handicrafts works.
To satisfy the above objectives creating required functional spaces along with the
recreational facilities.
REASON FOR SELECTION OF TOPIC:-
The Indian art and craft makes it a famous tourist destination. People love to shop in
India for the versatility it provides in the art and craft varying through regions.
A centre or platform through which culture and art can be promoted. To provide an
amalgamation of handicrafts, food and cultural activities.
A centre that is educating public on indigenous traditions and at the same time to bridge
the gap between the craftsmen and the purchaser, giving better opportunity for the
artisan/craftsman for marketing.
.CHALLENGES:-
The connections between rural and urban centres and the poor infrastructural setup
leave the customers with limited choice to explore all such diversified handicrafts.
CONCEPT OF PLANNING
Designed by Charles Correa, centre is an analogue of the original
city plan of Jaipur. The plan is guided by Shilpa Shastras based on
the vedic mandala of nine squares which represent nine planets.
ALLOTMENT OF SPACES:-
Each square was linked to the
planet as per characteristics of
the particular planet and its
astrological values and the
functionality of the square.
3.AMPHITHEATRE(O.A.T.)
It provides the perfect ambience for the people to relax and
enjoy a variety of cultural programs including classical music,
dance folk art performance every weekend. With 1,000
people capacity.

The hitec city is dominated by tall concrete
structures, the green lawns in complex are a
welcome change for everyone.
KONASEEMA-
Spilt air conditioning in office, centralization air conditioning facility in auditorium was
provided.
ROOFING DETAILS.
L- steel section were used to support roof. Bamboo used as batten over that bamboo mat
was used. These mats were covered with dried grass
For the larger span steel column & trusses are used to support roof. To improve Aesthetic
quality structural members are cladded with bamboo slates.
In the village museum some of the structure are in mud walls & some of walls constru-
cted with clay pots & mud used as a plaster.
