On arrival, officers located the body of Cory [Richardson with apparent trata to the body. An atopy was condicied athe State Crime Lab which determined that Cory hr yhevitim ofa Homicide and died from a gunshot wound that entered his upper lft let batocks and exited his abdomen, [The Medical Examiner also noted Cory sured Blunt Force Trauma to his head and a Stab Wound f his left thigh that was postmortem. A witness came forward a coople of hours after Coy’ boy was discovered with specific detailed information that only investigators knew atthe time which were confided tothe witness by Melissa Wineland abou the same time Con's body was ldiscovered. This information kd tothe discovery of the location where Cory was killed, Melissa's residence at 106 North Patterson, and the vehicle use to transport Cory’ fom the house to the cemetery. Physical evidenes located in both places was| [consistent with the witness satement. IMclssa Wincland was subsequently arrested on 10/24/17 for Tampering with Physical Evidence. Se provided a statement in which she detailed her knowlege of what had led to his killing. She stated that sometime during te aftemoon of 1022/17, {cory purchased $100 worth of methamphctamines from Steven Wood using counterfeit $100 bil She stated that Steven pets lis meth from Donald Williams, whom Meliss is romantically iavolved with, A relative of Donal collected the bill [afterwards which made its way back to Don. Later that day at around 1900-2000 hours, Don showed up at Meliss house md lac Steven for having taken the bil, Don advised Steven to locate Cory so that he coud be "deat with” and left. Later inthe Init Melisa borrowed the afsrementoned car to ran some errands and lft the house litle after €300 hours on 10/2317, |Dom called her and stated that Cary had been shot at her house and she needed to get there and cleanup the mess. When she lrived, Steven and James Keyser loaded Cory into the car and she and James dumped him a the cerctry. (on 11/6/17 a witness came forward who was in the house and had observed the shooting. The witness stated that Don and his son-in-law, John Walker, showed up a the house at around 0300 hours both armed with andguns. Also in the house wih the witness at the time was Steve, James, Stephanie Shell, and Jake Norwood. The witness observed Cory laying face down en the flor yelling that he Ina been shot as Don and Jha exited the kitchen. Don was cleaning blood ofT his hands and the gonand told the witness and lames “yal beter clean this mess up" ashe and Joba lef. Steven then began kicking Cory inte head yelling at him to get out ltthe house. The witness stated that Cory kept repeating that he was dying as Steven was kicking him.
