QAD Enamel
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
BERGER QAD Enamel is a specially formulated product based on modified alkyd resin for quicker drying application. It has excel-
lent flow and leveling properties and on application forms a smooth, glossy and hard film. The product has excellent coverage and
opacity
Substrate : Suitable for use on primed masonry, timber and metal surfaces like grills, gas cylinders etc.
TECHNICAL DATA
Finish : Smooth, Glossy
Shade / Colour range : Metallic Aluminium and other solid colours on request.
Solvent Resistance : Resistant to aliphatic hydrocarbons but susceptible to Polar and aromatic solvents.
% Volume Solids : 40 ± 1 %
Practical Coverage : Practical coverage may depend on surface profile, method of application and weather conditions.
APPLICATION DATA
Method of application : Brush, Roller, and Spray
Thinner : Solvalux 7 - 25
Thinning ratio (by vol.) : Brushing: 5 to 10 % Rolling: 0 to 5% Spraying: 15 to 20% (apply at 70 psi)
SURFACE PREPARATION
In case of grease/oil contamination, use Thinner Solvalux 7 - 25 for cleaning the surface before sanding with suitable abrasive paper.
For larger area, wire brush can be used for removal of old paint. For old and strongly adhered paint film on metallic and wooden
surface, Berger Quick Paint Remover should be used for stripping the paint.
APPLICATIONS DETAILS
On the suitably cleaned and prepared surface, apply NC primer surface or QAD Primer by using brush, roller or spray gun. After
drying, sand lightly with Emery Paper-320 and Top Coat with BERGER QAD Enamel. Stir the contents thoroughly before and
during use, with a broad flat stirrer, using an upward lifting action.
Use Solvalux 7 - 25 in the recommended thinning ratio. Apply uniformly either by brushing, rolling or spraying.
For repainting of old painted surface, remove grease / oil using Solvalux 7 - 25, remove all loose paint by scrapping / wire brush-
ing, sand with emery paper 320 lightly , wipe with dry rag and apply one coat of BERGER QAD Enamel directly.
