Staffing requirements
Edgemaster perfected a machine that can practically drive
itself and so for the first time allowed a one person curbing
operation. Curbing can be installed with a crew as small as
one or two people, but three people on site is most common:
One person feeding and driving the machine, one person
finishing the curb and one person mixing the concrete.
Typically, until your crew is fully trained, the owner/operator
will operate the machine and use one or two helpers to do the
ground prep, concrete mixing and troweling. Many operators
work along with their wife or partner. A three person crew
should be able to install and finish up to 400 feet or more of
custom-stamped curbing per day. At $8 or more per foot, it
makes for a $3200 sale. Not bad for one day’s work!

Two decades of development has proven that extruding wider curb produces a stronger, more
durable product. A wider curb also means a larger “footprint” (or contact area) which enhances
the ease with which the curb machine tackles uneven terrain. Each standard Edgemaster curbing
profile is a full 7 inches in width. Your customers will thank you when they see how good it looks
and how durable their new curbing is. For special applications, you may even choose a custom
shape and have a special profile made to suit your Edgemaster.

Edgemaster uses a unique and easy system. Curb lighting is installed using specially designed curb molds
which create a perfectly sized lighting channel in the curbing as it is extruded. Once the curb has been layed,
the lighting strips are easily placed into the pre fitted grooves without the need for any grinding, cutting or
sawing. This results in an installation where the light strips sit flush with the surrounding concrete surface.
