Tooling 50 B

99799S

SODICAM clip removal pliers.

Using these pliers it is easy to remove "fir-tree"

clips and interior trim clips such as on door panels,
soundproofing mats and mudguard mountings.

Door window winder handles may also be remo-

ved. (First affix a small piece of masking tape to
the door panel to avoid damaging it during remo-
val.)

The pliers have one flat and one bent nose, giving
easy access to remove clips without damaging
them. The heads of the clips are not deformed,
enabling them to be re-used when refitting.

13426R2

This mechanism controls the central and upper locks simultaneously.

Remove:
- sliding door trim (use clip-removing pliers to take off the retaining
clips),
- door barrel control linkage (A),
- exterior opening handle control linkage (B),
- interior opening handle control linkage (C),

- control linkage for central and lower locks (E),
- control mechanism (three mounting bolts (F)).

NOTE: When the lock control linkage is refitted, do not pull on this un-
til the control mechanism is clipped in position. The position of this lin-
kage at rest ensures that the lock will unlatch if the opening handle is
operated. If the linkage is subjected to any strain, it may cause pro-
blems with the unlatching.

REMOVING GUIDE RAIL

PRF5107

Remove the rail mounting bolts (C).

The front section of the rail is secured to a metallic

bracket.

This bracket is secured to the side of the body by

means of three mounting bolts (D).

REFITTING

When refitting the slide, make sure that the ten-

sioner will not collide with the heads of the bolts
(C) which secure the guide rail.

13427R

REMOVING UPPER ARM

Remove:
- the three bolts for mounting the arm on the

REFITTING

13434R

When the slide is refitted, you must make sure

that the tensioner which supports the door makes
contact with the rail when the door is closed.

To perform this operation, insert a flat screwdri-

ver between the rail the the slide tensioner.

Position the tensioner so that it makes contact

with the rail (1) and tighten the slide mounting
bolts . (Two people are required to perform this
operation. )

NOTE: This operation should be carried out after

the door has been adjusted.

REFITTING LOWER ARM

13428S

Carry out the following adjustment before refit-

ting the arm and and before tightening the
mounting bolts.

When the door is opened, the slide link arm flexes

under the weight of the door.

This means that the centring fittings mounted at

the front of the door are offset in relation to the
cones fixed on the door of the cab.

To counteract this problem, with the door half

open you must take the strain off the door so that
the centring fittings do not make contact with the
cones at the start of the process.

Once the door has been correctly positioned,

move the lower arm down so that it makes
contact with the guide rail.

Tighten the arm mounting bolts on the door.

Check the adjustment and check that, when it is

opened, the door is supported and does not drop
suddenly.

NOTE : Two persons are required to perform this

operation.

ADJUSTING SLIDING DOOR Height adjustment Z and flush fitting dimension Y

for the front part of the door is obtained by adjus-
ting the centring attachments.

13429S

After refitting the trim to the door, hold this in

position against the vehicle using the door sup-
port tool (see section 50).

Place in position the mounting bolts for the upper

and lower arms and the mounting bolts for the 13433R1
central slide (see previous pages).
Height adjustment Z and flush fitting dimension Y
for the rear part of the door is obtained by adjus-
ting the central lock.

13437R

If the opening clearance between the sliding door

and the rear wing panel or between the sliding
door and the cab door is out of parallel, it must be
corrected by the following procedure.

Adjustment at Z of the centring fittings and the

lower arm to pivot the door.

After adjustment, consult the refitting method for

the lower arm (see page 51-20).

51-22
SIDE OPENING ELEMENT MECHANISMS
Locks and mechanisms for sliding door 51 F

13426R3

The clearance of 6.5 mm at X (see illustration on previous page) bet-

ween the sliding door and the rear wing panel is obtained by adjusting
the central slide.

With the door closed, remove the door trim and undo the mounting
bolts for the slide (A).

Move the door to adjust it at X to ensure that the opening clearance is

correct

Two people are required to to carry out this operation.

After carrying out the adjustment but before torque tightening, follow
the instructions for refitting the central slide given on page 51-18.
