MicroSCADA Pro SYS600 9.4 FP2 Hotfix 1

Release Note

Products MicroSCADA Pro SYS600 9.4 FP2

Description The Hotfix includes corrections for the following issues:

Base System
Mirroring

1. Object Command via Mirroring - Empty US Attribute

The user name - attribute US - was not mirrored to host application
when a process command was given in image application. This
misbehavior concerned IEC, REX and DNP stations when any of the
protocol specific attributes CT, OG, TY and GL was not zero.

2. Missing Events in the Middle Level of Hierarchical Mirroring

System
When a control operation (Open select, Close select, Execute,
Cancel) was made in a top level IMAGE system the operation event
didn't appear in the BOTH level system if the process command
(#SET) included (explicitly or implicitly) a non-zero attribute CT, OG
or TY.

OPC DA Server

3. OPC Client Using Mongolian Language

Mongolian was not supported as OPC client user language. These
OPC connections defaulted to English language.

4. OPC Alarms & Events Server

When an alarm condition was acknowledged on OPC A&E client, the
severity of the condition changed to 1. Functionality is changed so
that the severity does not change due to acknowledgement.

Other

5. SYS600 Log Saved Using ASCII Characters

SYS600 Notify can save log entries in csv format to a separate file.
The file was saved using ASCII character and thus the non ASCII
characters were saved as '?' characters. The file saving is changed to
use UTF-8 encoding to support unicode characters.

Release Note

IEC 61850 Server

6. Time Synchronization Server Response With Unknown Stratum

When the SNTP client is disabled the SNTP server responds to
SNTP request with stratum = 0. This causes many SNTP clients not
to synchronize. The SNTP server response default stratum is
changed to stratum = 1 (primary reference).

Monitor Pro
Application Window

7. Monitor Pro Login Command Line Parameters

Monitor Pro command line parameter parsing may have failed to
parse -loginonce and -login parameters. This caused Monitor Pro to
display 'Wrong user name or password' error message even though
the given parameter were correct. The failure was due to wrong
interpretation of the password parameter.

8. Monitor Pro Process Display Updating

Process Display update handling is enhanced to handle better display
navigation between different types of SYS600 views. The change
prevents situations where navigation resulted a situation where the
process display did not respond to data updates.

Event Display

9. Custom Condition Filter in List Views

Custom condition filter in list views is changed to handle all SYS600
process object attributes in a case insensitive manner. The
functionality is common to Event, Alarm, Blocking and User Activity
Log lists.

List Displays

10. Object Identifier list box in Filter Dialog

List box showing detailed information about Filter Category selection
is made wider so that long OI strings are readable. Also a horizontal
scroll bar is added. The change is affects Event, Alarm, Blocking and
User Activity Log Lists.

MicroSCADA Pro SYS600 9.4 FP2 Hotfix 1

Release Note

Trend preconfiguration xml file created using earlier SYS600 revision,

for example revision SYS600 9.4, were not fully compatible with
newer revision. The old preconfiguration format may have caused
Monitor Pro crash or a dead lock situation in Monitor Pro menu bar.

Migration

12. Character Encoding Problems in Monitor Pro+

In some locales displays containing non-latin1 characters were
converted incorrectly to Monitor Pro+. All symbols and displays under
the application folder will be converted from the current operating
system locale to UTF-8 for use in Monitor Pro+. Custom symbols
stored outside the application folder are excluded from this
conversion and should be moved under APL/APLMOD4/Palette if
they contain embedded texts, with non-latin1 locales.

13. Migration of Complex DataViews Thresholds Improved (Monitor

Pro+)
Some of the DataViews dynamics with complex threshold definitions
were wrongly migrated to the web based format used in Monitor Pro+.
This is now fixed and dynamics like Blink, Foreground, Background
etc. should work better on Monitor Pro+.

14. Support for All DataViews Memory Variable Types Added to

Display Migration
Some DataViews memory variable types were not handled properly
and failed display migration (i.e. Double, UShort, UByte). Now also
these types are handled and migrated correctly.

Pipeline Process Library

15. Fix Translation Problem in Deadband Settings

Text: "will be shown as 0.00" can be translated. This key was added
to the file BPU_DLG_TEXTS.SDB

16. Texts Translation Corrections

The following texts in pipeline dialogs can now be translated: - Title of
Edit comment dialog - 'Value' in measurements simulation -
'Measured value between +/-' in measurements Deadband settings -
'will be shown as 0.00' in measurements Deadband settings

Visual SCIL Tool Integration

Release Note

PD_OBJECT_CLICKED event is delivered to each opened Visual

SCIL dialog. This message was not sent when the object did not have
any action attached to mouse click event handling. This is changed
so that the message is sent always regardless of any other mouse
click actions.

Other

18. Displays from Another Application Not Shown Anymore on a

New Freshly Created Application (Monitor Pro+)
When creating a new application that has no own process displays,
and logging into it using Monitor Pro+, the list of displays from a
previous application were shown on the UI list. Now the UI is properly
cleaned between logout and login operations.

Sequencer

19. Sequences Failed to Start Because of Wrong Controllability

Check
The sequencer failed to start a sequence, because it checked the
blocking/interlocking conditions for all commands included in the
sequence. For example, the interlocking conditions might change
during the execution of the sequence. This was a blocker for a
sequences started by Internal or External triggers, for example, by a
command procedure attached to an event channel.

System Self Supervision

20. Double HOT with SSS Control Dialog Forced Takeover

Executing forced takeover from SSS Control dialog could in some
systems lead to short double hot situation. This has been fixed, but
WD application SHADGOCOLD command procedure has to be
manually modified or deleted if it already exists.

21. System Self-Supervision Control Dialog for Objects With Station

Number > 9999
It wasn't possible to use System Self-Supervision control dialogs with
station objects with station number over 9999. Due to an incorrect
assumption on the format of the Self-supervision objects. Parsing
expected that the supervision object only had at most 4 characters as
an object number.

System Configuration Tool

22. SD Attribute Field Length Limitation

The length of the SD (System Device Name) attribute field in Sysconf
tool was limited to 5 characters. Thus it was not possible to enter
COM port numbers higher than 99. The length of the field has been
now been increased to 7 characters.

User Account Management

23. Monitor Pro Localization for Area of Responsibility

Monitor Pro menu item for Area of Responsibility can now be
localized to user language. Exclusive Access Rights notification
windows is changed to fully support UTF-8 encoding so that the Area
name and the user names are shown correctly. The exit confirmation
message of the Area of Responsibility Display can now be localized.
Localized texts comes from Monitor Pro so no additional work is
required.

24. Area of Responsibility

Area of Responsibility functionality automatically assigns Exclusive
Access Rights ownership to user having suitable rights. The
functionality now ignores user sessions which are started by logging
in using Classic Monitor. This way only Monitor Pro user sessions
can have Exclusive Access Rights ownership.

Monitor pro+
25. Monitor Pro+ Localization Satellite dll's
Monitor Pro+ failed to load correct localization dll files for event,
alarm, blocking and user activity lists. Now these files are correctly
loaded from the common localization dll location,
sc\prog\sa_lib\<lang_id> folder.

26. Conversion Errors On Locales with Dot as a Digit Grouping

Symbol
In case locale uses as a digit grouping symbol, some of the converted
displays might have been converted incorrectly. This might cause
some dynamics to malfunction or completely disappear and data
variables embedded in the displays to be assigned an incorrect value.

27. Switching Application State During the Very First Startup of

MicroSCADA Does Not Work (Monitor Pro+)
When using Monitor Pro+, all the displays are migrated from
DataViews format to the web based format during the very first

Release Note

startup of MicroSCADA system. This was blocking the receiving of

the application state messages (HOT, COLD). Now application states
can be changed also during the display migration in system startup.

28. Improvements in Display Switching Performance (Monitor Pro+)

Use of namespace http://www.abb.com/SYS600/naming/1.0 in XML
based symbol displays, disabled some web based performance
improvement features. This is now fixed and display opening /
switching is working a bit faster than before on Monitor Pro+.

29. Tool Launcher Mechanism Working More Reliably on Monitor

Pro+
Tool Launcher mechanism did not work properly (some parameters
were not passed on) on process display objects that did not have
Object Name defined (on Display Builder open object properties and
General page). This is now fixed and Tool Launcher is working more
reliably on Monitor Pro+.

30. Visibility of Sub-views in Monitor Pro+ with Different Visibility

Priorities
In case sub-views (e.g. switching devices or embedded displays)
were defined with a visibility priority that wasn't visible at the initial
open in some cases these became only visible during zooming on the
first open of the display. If user changed display and later returned to
said display, views were not necessarily shown. This mainly occurred
with displays that had no data updates coming from the process
database.

31. Tool Launcher Arguments Passed to SCIL Dialogs Fixed

When tool launcher was used to open Visual SCIL dialogs with OPC
items mapped to an item which included an attribute (e.g. OX) in
some cases the variable passed on in SCIL format
(OPCITEMID_SCIL) was malformed.

32. Time Delay Removed in Text Scaling While Opening a Display

(Monitor Pro+)
When opening a display on Monitor Pro+, some texts were drawn
on the screen with a wrong size, and scaled to correct size after a
short delay of time. Now the correct size texts are directly drawn on
the screen.

MicroSCADA Pro SYS600 9.4 FP2 Hotfix 1

Release Note

Recommendation
It is recommended to install this Hotfix in all SYS600 9.4 FP2 systems

Installation
Digital signature digest algorithm support
This Hotfix and its contents are digitally signed using the sha256 digest
algorithm. Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 with updates available
during the release of this hotfix or newer operating system versions are
required for successful validation.

Software publisher identity and file integrity checking will not work if the
operating system lacks support for the sha256 digest algorithm. This will
result in User Access Control on Windows Vista and above to present the
user with the question to trust or not to trust the unknown publisher of the
software. Note: Windows Vista is not supported by MicroSCADA Pro SYS600
9.4 FP2.

To install the Hotfix:

1. Stop the SYS600 system
2. Close any open SYS600 applications
3. Run the installation program SYS600_94-2_HF1.exe

The Hotfix will install the following files (excluding files installed into Program
Files):

STool\sysconf\ATTR_DEF.VSO
