General Changes

Although the campaign will be different from a 'normal' Amber campaign, the standard rules will apply, with
the changes noted below.
Characters will be made with 150 points, not 100.
Characters will always earn at least point per session, usually more. However, as with the standard rules,
players will never know just how much they are earning.

Attributes
 Ranks
There will be no auction. Instead, each player will simply spend the points blindly, without knowing
what the other characters have, just as it will be for the NPCs. The highest possible value of any single
attribute is 125, as below.

There are four centers of power in which one may have allies and/or enemies, focused on Pattern
(Amber), Logrus (Courts of Chaos), Trump, and Abyss. The basic rules center the game on the Amber
Court. Since that is not the case here, all costs have been normalized. Players may have any
combination of allies and enemies, even from the same court. All points spent here WILL come into
play, even if you do not realize it or ever visit the specified court, so be careful of how many enemies
you choose. Although players will not start the game knowing any of their allies or enemies, they are
ONLY available at character creation.

Stuff is like karma. It's an excellent resource and always a tie breaker. However, it's not a substitute for
real power or ranking. It can be good to go in either direction, but don't go overboard.

Players may create items as described in the basic rules. Additionally, all new powers (like science)
may be included in the item's creation. Thus, you may have items relating to science, rather than
magic, which draw upon other powers.

The basic rules mention artifacts of power, such as the Jewel of Judgment. Although PCs may not
start with knowledge of these artifacts, it may (or may not) be possible to find them.

You can buy them to start according to the basic rules, but it may be a bit before you get to find them
and use them. You can also wait to find one later, and buy it then. You can always go find one for free,
but I get to mess with anything free.
 Skills
Unlike the regular system, you have to start out buying your skills. If you don't buy it, then you don't
have it. Some skills may require that you previously have knowledge of other skills. For example, you
will need to know another language before you can be an interpreter. However, you'll only actually
NEED to spend 2 points, so you can be good enough at something to earn money. Still, I recommend
taking a bunch of skills, just in case.
 Tier 1
o Knowledgeable [1 point]
You have some knowledge concerning the skill, but not enough to earn a living. However, this is the
minimum level needed to support other skills, if necessary.
 Tier 2
o Journeyman [+1 point]
You can earn a living with the skill.
 Tier 3
o Expert [+1 point]
You are considered an expert in your field.
 Contributions [-25 points maximum]
Players may make contributions to offset the costs of building your character. You may only make up to
25 points worth of contributions, with the obvious exception of the Campaign Log.
o Character Background [-5 points]
You can write a one-time background for your character provided extreme insight into who they
are and why they are that way. The final version is due by the 2nd session, after which the points
are deducted from your total Stuff until complete. Additional details can always be added.
o Character Diary [-10 points]
You do a write-up of each session presented from the perspective of your character. Of course,
this write-up will only include in character knowledge. Missing a session results in points being
deducted from your total Stuff until complete.
o Character Flaws [up to -15 points]
Just as taking bad Stuff gets you additional points, you can give your character flaws which will
hamper their efforts. The value of each flaw will be dependant on how much they hamper the
character and must be negotiated with & approved by the GM.
o Character Stories [-10 points]
You write a story from the perspective of your character for each session, to be shared with
everyone (as OOC knowledge). Missing a session results in points being deducted from your
total Stuff until complete.
o Character Trump [-5 points]
You do a one-time drawing of your character as a Trump card. The final version is due by the 2nd
session, after which the points are deducted from your total Stuff until complete. Additional
details can always be added.
o Campaign Trump Cards [-10 points]
You do a drawing depicting a person or scene from each session, to be shared with everyone.
Missing a session results in points being deducted from your total Stuff until complete.
o Campaign Log [-1 point per session]
On a rotating basis, players may elect to do a simple but factual write-up of the entire current
session (due the following session). Missing the deadline results in that point being deducted
from your total Stuff until complete. Each session will be considered separately.
