RSCC Kids Go Swimming! By: Kate Almojano

During summer time, one of the most

favorite ways of people to enjoy, relax and
cool off all at the same time is by swim-
ming. Last April 21, 2017, ERH was
blessed to sponsor the DSWD-RSCC
Kids’ Swimming Activity held at Private
Pool Place, an exclusive pool in Diliman,
Quezon City. The kids started their day
with a breakfast delivery from an all-time
kid’s favorite—Jollibee. They spent their
whole day enjoying the private pool under
the warmth of the sun and cool breeze of
the air. Billiards and Videoke were also
available as extra entertainment for the
guardians of the kids. To ensure that the
kids have enough energy in the afternoon,
another lunch delivery was arranged thru
Jollibee.

are looking forward for more activities

It’s More Fun at Richmonde Hotels
Company outings give everyone a chance
to relax, unwind and have fun while
strengthening teamwork. It helps build
great camaraderie among the staff which
results to better performance at work.
Last May 9 and 11, employees of both
Richmonde Hotel Ortigas and Eastwood
Richmonde Hotel teamed up for this year’s
company outing. All the employees woke
up early to join the fun which started with
some bus games while on the way to Ter-
razas De Punta Fuego in Nasugbu, Batan-
gas where all the fun and excitement hap-
pened. The collaboration resulted to dou-
ble the fun and double the excitement
during the group games.
The Summer Outing’s highlight were the
games! To promote teamwork and cama-
raderie, the group was divided into four
teams — Red Team, Green Team, White
Team and Blue Team. The goal of each
team was to complete each game station’s
task/instruction within three minutes. The
employees played a set of games which

Mangrove Tree Planting, Reforestation:
An RHI-RED Project
Richmonde Hotel Iloilo had its very first
tree planting activity last April 29, 2017.
The said activity is under the
“Greenspiration” umbrella which is the
environment initiative of the RHI Family.
The tree planting activity was done at the
Katunggan Park,.
Katunggan Park is a man-made mangrove
forest in Leganes, Iloilo province. It is now
becoming a magnet for birds, a variety of
spawning fish species, mud crabs and other
marine wildlife. The 15-hectare Katunggan
Park in Barangays Gua-an and Nabitasan,
which used to be several fishponds is now
thickly covered with mangroves.
This was a perfect place to start helping
mother earth. The Socials Committee of
RHI spearheaded by Mr. Rey Jadoc was
able to accomplish the needed prepara-

tions for the said activity to ensure that
verything will go as planned.
The call time set was 5:30 am. This was an
unusual time for the RHI employees but
because of their desire to help save moth-
er earth, everyone came in early and ready
to go. The challenge for the tree planting
activity was that we needed to start early
for us to be able to finish everything be-
fore the tide rises.
Upon arrival everyone helped in bringing
the needed materials for the tree planting
activity. The actual tree planting started at
6:00am right after the short lecture given
by Mr. Wilson Batislaon and the Opening
Remarks of RHI’s Resident Manager, Ms.
Natalie U. Lim.
You can see and feel everyone’s excite-
ment as we made our way to the area

where we planted the mangroves. Each staff
was paired with a buddy to make the job faster
and easier. We expected to be done by
10:00a.m. but due to the enthusiasm and active
participation of everybody, the job was done at
around 7:00a.m.!
After the Tree Planting activity, everyone was
rewarded with a hearty meal prepared by the
Kitchen Team led by RHI’s Eecutive Sous Chef,
Chef Toto delos Reyes. Everybody’s favorite
was the Liempo cooked by Chef Rey Parreño.
Everyone indulged themselves on the scrump-
tious meal before heading home.
With the help and assistance of Mr. Wilson
Batislaon who won the 2016 Walt Disney Con-
servation Hero, RHI was successful in the tree
planting activity. The activity may have been
tiring but helping mother earth was and will
always be worth it not only for us but for the
future generation as well.
