Disclaimer
By using this guide, you acknowledge that this is provided “as is” and any use of this guide is at
your own full risk. It has been tested (where possible) by myself, but I cannot guarantee that
everything contained in this guide will function correctly on all variants of the Seat Ibiza/Cordoba
(6L).
Therefore, I will not be held responsible for any damage that may occur to your vehicle.
Remember, before changing any coding or values on your vehicle, it is best practice to
record the existing value, so it can be reverted back if you are to encounter any issues.

As the Seat Ibiza/Cordoba (6L) models are built on the same PQ24 platform as the Volkswagen
Polo (9N) and Skoda Fabia (6Y), there may be a possibility that parts of this guide may work
with similar effects on these models as well. This has not been tested.

Version 1.2
Seat Ibiza/Cordoba (6L) (2002-2008) VCDS Guide

Getting Started
Welcome to the Seat Ibiza/Cordoba (6L) (2002-2008) VCDS Guide. This guide was produced
so that you, the owner, can activate or change various features on your Seat Ibiza or Cordoba.
This guide covers known tips and tricks and was made using VCDS 12.12.
VCDS-Lite can be downloaded for free from www.ross-tech.net and can be used with a
compatible FTDI FT232 Cable from eBay etc… however, unless it is registered, features are
very limited and will effect what you can do throughout this guide.

So what is VCDS?
VCDS (VAG-COM Diagnostic System) is powerful Windows-based software that allows a PC to
act as a diagnostic tool for most VW/Audi/SEAT/Skoda vehicles from 1994-current day.
If you are unfamiliar with the basic workings of VCDS, check out Ross-Tech‟s fantastic VCDS
User Manual - http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/tour/main_screen.html

How to use this guide

For ease of use, this guide is broken down into the control modules as seen in VCDS. Within
each module, there are different settings or Adaptations that can be made along with a flow
chart of how to do this.

Key
Below is a breakdown of the different commands used throughout this guide.
[01 – Engine] = This is the control module as displayed within the „VCDS Select
Control Module‟ window. The control modules are always listed as
a number then the description.

[Login – 11] = This shows a specific button within a control module that needs
to be selected. Buttons are always listed as the description then a
number.

Enter “12233” = This shows what text or value you need to enter within a text
window. Only enter what is shown WITHOUT apostrophes, for
example 12233 not “12233”.

[Do It!] [Cancel] = These are action buttons within various screens throughout
VCDS. These only have to be selected once.

Enter Channel/Group “03” = This shows what text or value you need to enter within a group
or channel text box. Only enter what is shown WITHOUT
apostrophes, for example 03 or 3, not “03” or “3”.

#Blip Accelerator Pedal = This is a physical action that has to be carried out by the user. In
this case, blip the accelerator to settle the idle revs.

[01] – Engine
Idle Speed – Raise/Lower
Conditions

 With engine coolant temp above 70c;

 Whilst engine is running, at idle;
Procedure
[01 – Engine]
[Adaptation – 10]
Enter Channel 01 (02 for TDI engines)

Now you will see a group of numbers in (Stored Value) and (New Value).
[Up] raises and [Dn] lowers the idle speed.
Alter the speed to the idle speed you like (Idle speeds will vary dependant on engine).

EGR Valve – Reduce Flow (Diesel Only)

NOTE – THIS IS NOT AN EGR DELETE. THIS SIMPLY REDUCES THE AMMOUNT OF
EXHAUST GASES RECIRCULATED AS THE EGR VALVE IS STILL OPERATIONAL.

Conditions

 With engine coolant temp above 70c;

 Whilst engine is running, at idle;
 Air conditioning turned off (ECON);

Procedure
[01 – Engine]
[Login – 11]
Enter “12233”
[Do It!]
[Adaptation – 10]
Enter Channel “03” – You should see “33768” in (Stored Value) and (New Value).
#Blip Accelerator Pedal
Enter “32768”
[Test] – You may see a number that is slightly higher than “32768”. Don‟t worry. As long as the
new number within (Stored Value) and (New Value) is less than “33768” you have reduced the
flow through the EGR as much as the ECU will let you.
