SC’s MVPs

Being named as Most Valuable Player (MVP) is a prestige worth vying for. All athletes have this goal in
mind aside from winning the game. Even in SC, where skillful sport-loving students abound, the MVP title
is but a name to behold. Yet, very few, in the eyes of the expert, are deserving to be dubbed as such.

Angelo Gabriel Saragena, from the Unit D Dragons, is this year’s MVP in basketball. This cute, 20-year-old
basketball superstar is the youngest son of the late Francisco Saragena and Wennie Saragena.

Angelo believed practicing puts anyone in goodness. “If you want to be a good player, you should practice
because practice makes perfect and keep believing in yourself always,” stressed Angelo.

Angelo eats foods that will give him energy and maintain his masculine-fit body. He never forgets eating
vegetables and fruits. He also drinks milk to make his bone strong.

“You should have self-discipline, hard work, and time with your family,” Angelo to those who want
become a basketball superstar.

Meanwhile, this year’s MVP in Women’s Volleyball is Ivy Jean Albarando from Unit E Eagles. She’s the
daughter of Dindo and Adelaida Albarando. Her motto in life is “Success is not just what you fulfill in life,
but it’s doing beyond your best.”

Like Angelo, to stay fit and strong, Ivy regularly drinks milk and fresh fruit juice and eats carb-rich foods.

“Always focus on the game. Do not think about winning. Just enjoy the moment; playing is already
winning,” Ivy remarked. She’s inspired by the cockerels, her family, and her national volleyball superstar
idols.

Angelo and Ivy are the pride of Southeastern College. They maybe rookies, but someday they might
become the next volleyball and basketball idols of many.
