Note 1 Cell temp adjust:

This is to improve cell EMF by making up and down the cell heater temperature when changing
the cell or when the cell EMF is getting weak because of long time use. The value can be
set from ±25℃ makes the cell temperature go up and makes it go down.
This adjustment should be made while watching the cell EMF carefully.
It is please for details our company.

Note 2 SPAN Remote calibration:

Flow span gas (air:20.6~20.9%),then momentary short the terminal No.17-20.
If the proofreading of a front panel is executed, this proofreading is cleared.

Note 3 Filter:
When the respons speed of meter indication and output is too fast or not steady,
then increase the filter value to reduce the answer speed and unsteadiness.
The unit is seconds.

*1 <Table 1: An Example of AUTO Range Setting>

Table 1 shows the shift of transmission output when the scale setting was changed to
AUTO Range on the scale setting. [% range:0~25%, ppm range:0~10000ppm]
Output will change along the heavy line in Table 1.
The system’s software searches the MAX. Value (Full Scale Value) of each range
then determines which range is corresponding to the Cell EMF.
EXAMPLE: If the sample gas concentration is changing from AIR(20.6%) to 100ppm,
the indication and output of the analyzer set by the above range changes
as follows:
Indication : 20.6%→ 1%⇔10000ppm→100ppm
Output : 17.18→ 4.64⇔20.00 →4.16 (mA)

*2 <Table 2: An Example of Scale Setting>

IM1006221DE C-28C INSTRUCTION MANUAL Ver.2.0 PAGE:12/21
Scale Setting is used when to determine by SCL.L the % of oxygen concentration
to which the transmission output of Zero side(V output:0mA output:4mA) respond,
and also to determine by SCL.H the % of oxygen concentration to which the
transmission output of Span side(V output:1 or 5 or 10V, mA output:20mA) respond.
Although only % is shown in Table 2, it is the same for ppm, atm, and Cell EMF
mV. In Table 2, the horizontal axis indicates oxygen concentration (%), and the
vertical axis indicates transmission output values(voltage and current).
Line(1): Output setting is for 0-25%.
Input Values:SCL.L=0.00, SCL.H=25.00
Line(2): Output setting is for 50-0%. In this case the increase and
decrease direction of O2 concentration and that of output are
reversed.
Input Values: SCL.L=50.00, SCL.H=0.00
Line(3): Output setting is for 10-40%. In this case Zero side is shifted
from O2 concentration 10%.
Input Values: SCL.L=10.00, SCL.H=40.00
Line(4): Output setting is for 0-100%. This output setting is for the
total range of O2 concentration indicated on the unit.
Input Values: SCL.L=0.00, SCL.H=100.00

The steps are almost the same as Calibration of % Range. Select ranges by ppm
unit numbers.
The following example uses the setting ; Span Gas: 0.9%(9000ppm) and Zero Gas:
1000ppm.

Calibration of Auto Range

The auto range function is released, and calibration of % range and ppm range
is needed individually.

NOTE: If the indicated value varies significantly or shows abnormal value after
calibration, setting error of calibration value or gas injection error is
considered. Carry calibration once again. If it cannot turn back to be normal,
‘Clear of the Calibration Value’ on Page 10th.
In that case the calibration curve will go along with the theoretical value,
so re-calibration will be needed to adapt to the actual sensor EMF.
IM1006221DE C-28C INSTRUCTION MANUAL Ver.2.0 PAGE:15/21

NOTE: When calibrating either one of Zero or Span, the data of the one not calibrated
will be the same as the previous data.

NOTE: The shipping value of the calibration curve will be the value based on the
theoretical value when shipping stand-alone of this unit, or it will be the
calibration value resulted in our test when shipping by combination with the
sensor. So calibration of combining with the sensor will be needed by user if
shipped stand-alone.

NOTE: About Zero/Span Gas at calibration

When separate Full Scale of the range to be used in halves, Zero Gas is the
gas with concentration in the lower half, and Span Gas is the gas with
concentration in the upper half.
Make any operation mistakes such as reversing the gas order at introducing
Zero/Span Gas or using the same gas for Zero-Span. By such an error the
calibration curve will not indicate the appropriate O2 concentration as it goes
far off from the allowable limits of error. Please carry re-calibration or clear
the calibration value and then re-calibrate to turn it back to be normal.

It is often because of other causes such as blockage, clogging of sensor filter, and
lack of gas flow that situation like low cell EMF takes place. So please do not
force calibration before investigating other causes.
Please refer to ‘Troubleshooting Chart’ on Page 20

One Point Gas Calibration

When calibrating 1 point gas only to make it simple, please do not carry it by
operating in Calibration Mode as there will be errors in the calibration curve.
In that case, short the Remote Calibration Contact Point on the rear terminal
block by using Air. This feature enables One Point AUTO Calibration by
combining Magnet Valve, Timer, Relay, and Sequencer that provide Air.
IM1006221DE C-28C INSTRUCTION MANUAL Ver.2.0 PAGE:16/21
*3 <Table 3>

Line(1) shows that the indication of O2 Analyzer and the true O2 concentration are
completely matched.
Line(2) has the same rising gradient and the different intercept as Line(1).
Line(3) has the different gradient and intercept from Line(1).
The secular change of cell EMF sometimes shows the same condition as (2) or(3),
and it is hard to determine which line the product would follow because it is affected
by the use conditions such as contents of the sample gas and ambient atmosphere.
In Simple One Point Calibration, (2) is considered to be the secular change of cell EMF
and the calibration curve is determined at Air only and then
shifted(parallel shift).
On the contrary, the operation in Calibration Mode is to adjust (3). As in One
Point Calibration at either Zero or Span, only one point is changed and the
existing data is used for the other point, the condition of (3) cannot be changed
to (1). So please be sure to calibrate 2 points.

*1
When the temperature greatly exceeds from standard value (735℃) or makes over range, it
will be judged to occur broken RTD or almost broken RTD. Turn off the power and measure
the residence value of heater and RTD. Standard residence value is on 5th page. If there is no
problem on sensor, the converter might be broken.
*2
If users have stocks, exchange it. In this case, the calibration has to be made. If you need the
repairing of control unit, return to manufacturing factory.
*3
When exchanging sensor assembly, always turn off the power of control unit. When
exchanging a sensor in the condition as it turns on, sensor breakage might be occurred. A
defect of sensor is possible to due to a defect of control unit. So take care of the temperature
increasing after exchanging sensor and turning on. If the temperature increases extremely
just after turning on or increases over 10 degree from standard value, turn off the power
immediately. In this case, return the both of sensor and control unit to manufacturing factory.
NOTE
Sensor breakage might occur not only just after turning on but also during measures.
In that case, investigate where there is a defect.

2.Defect of sample pressure *2 Exchange
  3.Leakage of sample pipe

4.Combustible gas mixing

*1 Do this troubleshooting in measurement in the presupposition which doesn't have the trouble
of the temperature-control.
*2 There are some ways to induce the sample gas. It is needed to refer to the flow diagram and
investigate the true cause of trouble. For example if it is found the cause of trouble is the
defect of sample pressure, cleaning of pump valve or exchanging pump have to be done in fact
to return normal status
*3 Exchanging TB filter is effective for making a long life of cell. Always exchange if it becomes
dirty and has a defect.
NOTE
The judgment of dirt
Remove TB filter and check inside, if inside of filter becomes dirty, exchange it.
*4 In the case the change of indication is extremely small or big comparing with the change of the
cell voltage, there might be mistake of calibration. Make to clear the calibration once and
confirm the indication. Clear the calibration setting value if the status is almost normal,
it is not needed to exchange the sensor assembly and continue to make a right calibration.
